I crashed in a rev’it eclipse at 35mph with the seesoft back protector added. Armour made it so I didn’t feel the impact or get any bruises, and it slid really well on the arms and didn’t come close to wearing through at all. However I rolled over the rear mesh in the fall and it scuffed up a lot more. Given how massive the mesh panels are, I would say it’s a fantastic urban jacket, but you probably shouldn’t use it on faster rides as it’ll tear through the chest and back in no time at speed.

one more thing to note, if the weather is already hot, IF there is sun, I suggest getting a light coloured jacket, Black colour just absorbs so much heat from the sun and is also not very visible for night riding.

The urbane is just ground breaking for me, allows me to be fully armored with a nice jacket over when on the way to work, slip the armor off and i have a 'trendy' jacket to wear whilst out and about. Genius!

I have had that rev’it eclipse for a few years for hot weather riding here in Hong Kong, it is great in terms of airflow and holds up really well. I have a Dianese Air Track mesh jacket for the sports bike, but the rev’it is much better for hot weather. The rev’it also works on different types of bikes a bit better, since now I am getting rid of the sports bike I can’t see myself wearing the Dianese much.

@@dannylam5712 I am about 182 CM tall, just under 6 foot, 44 or 42 chest size, and my jacket is an M!! I had the advantage of trying several sizes on before buying it, because I bought it during a trip to the UK, so for me I’m pretty confident I have the right size. It is snug, not uncomfortably so, to my preference and that helps keep the armour in place. I had to check just now that it really was an M size, not an L!! But it really is an M. So assuming the sizing hasn’t changed, I would not hesitate to order an M again, unusual I usually get L, I just got an Oxford kickback shirt ordered online and I ordered an L, fits fine.

I've been wearing the Hi-Vis Klim Induction vented jacket for three years. It incorporates D30 armour in the elbows, back and shoulders and 840D ballistic mesh in the crash zones. Top drawer for the Aussie summer!

Just bought one for this summer. It fits a bit… um.. fat but I really like it. I actually take the water proof liner from my adventure jacket and wear it underneath when I ride out in the morning when it’s cool so I can wear the induction all day. Then as the sun warms up, Chuck the waterproof liner in my bag and stay breezy all day. Not sure how the mesh would hold up in a slide but it seems a lot more substantive than the mesh on my old eclipse

It would be nice to see something other then black. In the summer of Florida, I don't care how much airflow you got, any dark color will bake you alive on a bike. The only option in this list is the eclipse silver and a choice of one, is no choice. The jackets that work for everyday riding for me in the extreme heat of Florida are: Pit boss beige mesh armor Duhans beige mesh armor And the Cuber white mesh armor They are all very affordable and the Cuber is the only one you have to buy armor for but it's sub $95. All are available on Amazon.

The Rev’it is a highly recommend from me, but these all sound and look the bomb tbh! I specifically bought the Rev’it Eclipse for two biking tour holidays abroad, the first being Tenerife and the second was Thailand riding in 40+ temps! I did buy the after market Level CE2 Rev’it back protection. I actually ended up going back to Thailand for another tour three months later. The jacket performed fantastically well and is a ‘must have’ for tropical destinations imo! Any of these jackets would be perfect for the job, none of them are particularly outrageously expensive. The oxford delta air mesh is awesome, understated and very good quality, Great airflow in summer with loads of pockets. Just remember to get a back protector to add but at 99 pounds that's still great value.

So far I've been trying out the Rev'It Airwave 3 and Tornado 3 jackets. Both are really good for very warm weather but the airwave 3 is slightly better but does not come with any waterproof layer or insulating layer for riding in wet, cooler or colder weather.

I sent a Knox Urbane Pro (Mk2) back recently because although it claims to work as an under layer it really doesn't. It's too chunky to wear anything over it unless it's extremely loose/baggy like an MX jersey. On it's own it's OK but I bought it to use as an under layer and I don't need another plain black outer jacket, I was looking something to wear underneath a shirt/hoodie. I also found the shoulders a bit restrictive in terms of movement and the back protector sits a bit too low.

@@chrispowers3254 You absolutely can. Not that you need to in any way, but I have put SAS-TEC’s new thinnest-on-the-market level 2 shoulder/elbow armour and it’s smaller still! I wear it with an MX jersey over the top in the summer (I’m too fat to pull it’s fitted look off wearing it on its own), but you could get away with anything thicker than a regular tshirt if you didn’t want it to be seen underneath…

I wear the Mk1 Urbane Pro under leather and a midlayer on Canadian autumns down to 5C. Never had a problem, to the extent I ditched the armour of my leathers and wear this under the leather instead.

I like the eclipse from revit but it only has single A abrasion. Any thoughts on that? Im looking for something to wear in summer and I easily heat up. The klim baja is double AA but costs three times as much. Revit cayenne or sand both look heavy and I dont know if thats going to feel to hot then.

It also includes a 5 year replacement warranty if you end up in a crash. It has Klim's Karbonite Mesh, abrasion zones at elbows and shoulders with 840D Hi-Tencity 6.6 Nylon, vented D30 armour (elbows, shoulders & back), Klim's Rino stitch where they actually hung in the air a BMW GS from the jacket, 3M Scotchlite reflective stripes, etc. Throw on a thin rain/wind breaker on top and you're waterproofed and protected on cooler days. Put on a long sleeve shirt or sweater below the jacket along with the wind breaker over the jacket and you have a Fall, Winter and Spring set up as well.

Klim Marakesh or BMW Airtex for me. Tried the knox…too utilitarian and uncomfortable. Elephant in the room is the neck hem. It’s stupidly tight and almost abrasive! No way would I wear it for more than a few minutes and it proves my deep suspicion of a lot of reviews and reviewers where things are presented more like paid adverts. Rev’it is great. Usual Rev’it quality. BMW Airtex often overlooked but as good as they come and as comfy to wear as the Klim as well as having drop liners supplied and not charged as extras unlike knox “system”😂

Recently I bought a jacket with Knox Microlock Level 2 protector. While just checking the elbow protectors, I tried to flex it the opposite way and it just tore off from the joints of the armour.Is this normal? Aren't we supposed to flex it like that?

My experience with the Shenstone is that it was absolutely perfect on the hottest day we have had this year and was manageable without the liner on cooler evenings for a short stretch. Cant help with the colour. I’ve ridden thousands of miles over 40+ years on bikes and never had an accident involving another vehicle and have always worn dark colours. Fell off twice on slippery roads mind you, but fluorescent wouldn’t have helped me there.
