In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzbin.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

Great video content as always! I'm not a pro, but the biggest mistake I made as a beginner lure angler was going back to using bait because I didn't catch on my first few attempts. Lure fishing is hard to begin with: you get snagged, lose tackle, you have to learn more knots and techniques; but it eventually pays off with practice and persistence.

Good tips; not giving up is correct, I’ve jigged on the same spot for a couple hours ice fishing with nothing only to have a great trout come in after 3 hrs when earlier in my “career” I would have given up before... Confidence is important! And yes not following the “herd” and finding your own spots is very good advice, often they produce better fish, again it’s about confidence.

from my point you did really good job in general, but few of the things you said it works only for waters in scandi states. For example we strugglening a lot to find "unexperienced" fish in central europe because we have lot of anglers and few water so fish are really careful to take anything. When I visited sweden for pike I felt like in candy land. :) In overfished waters there are no rules and you need to be really creative. :) And other thing you forgot is that there are states there are only artifitial types of water like water dams 30m+ where you can find really big fish and it is another lvl of finding of pike. They could be 5m under water level and you trying to find fish in 25m deep. Thanks for your content awesome video as always tho. Greetings from Czech Republic. :)

Have fished pike over 60 years and when the catch is good i take air and water temperature day and date plus what the day is like. But this where you and i differ i was told be a elder fisherman when i was starting that on a dull day use a bright bait and on a bright day use a darker bait. pike love lough reeds that is where they can ambush there pray. have always kept a journal and even today when i catch a pike i will wright down the air water temperature and note the kind of day have stocked lakes with pike near a village to give the young a chance to catch fish. And i only fish for big pike any fish less than 9 kilos i call that a bad day lol. Great video it was enjoyable

Nice video boy. Thanks. I think usually I do all 5 error that you mentioned😅😅but I can add one more thing: you have to believe in your lure. For this my greatest error in past was spend a lot of time to change many, many many different lures. Sometimes change can be positive, but some year ago in one session of 4 our I thing I spended 2 our for change lure and all this time, is time that you have not the lure in water. And is time where you can't take a pike.. out of water doesn't want to eat😅. Many thanks again, bye.

This is really a great thing that you shine some light on stuff like this, as you say in the film it´s real easy to fall in to patterns instead of making up your own plan and the try to stick with it. Of course one have to be flexible but we all make mistakes one just have to learn from them. Keep up the very good work in 2020, looking forward to some great and funny videos from you and all the guys at kanalgratis.se

great video, not the standard mistakes which anybody else says .... let the lure in the water , just near the boat... bigger lures ...etc... my mistakes: 1. Mistake don’t Trust in That what you do, Even when somebody else caught a Fish.... 2. Mistake many people dont collect they’re own experiences, and think they can learn out of the mistakes of other people ...but this is the wrong way .. 3. Mistake always when you go to the water, have a plan and a target you want to reach .... its okay if it doesnt work, but without a target and plan you have no structure ✌️

Mistake #2 is the hardest to beat. Pike fishing in Holland in the winter is just a matter of persistence and normally you catch big fish in the winter. When I moved to Sweden I became confronted with mistake #2 very heavily. But I noticed that when I really set my mind on big fish, taking only one big streamer rod with me so that I had to just fish for the big girls they did came on my lap in the floattube. Its just a mindset!

I think you've nailed all the mistakes there guilty of all of them I think an addition to the list is probably spending too much time in one place which is really more easily done when primarily fishing from the bank although sometimes spending a long time in one place can eventually produce a fish if there is lots of spots nearby on the same water there is benefits to keeping on the move discovered loads of my own spots by just being active and most times giving a certain spot a rest for a while circling back around to it will produce a fish crazy really truth is you can never tell so just try everything lol

I’m thinking in those lighting conditions a pale translucent lure works better than a dark one, the indirect lighting due to an overcast sky will scatter in the lure causing it to brighten and stand out a bit more.

I’m happy catching anything, given how low our rivers are here in Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦 this year. Got a question: does it seem with like that after some time or certain number of casts, they just stop biting? I usually will in an hour on average in our little river hole in town, 4-5 bites/catches (unless they unhook themselves) and then poof, nothing any more. For us, an hour and then go home. 🤔 please explain. 😊

People talk a lot about color and I hear you about profile, I think the later is defenetly true. But my own approach is more to let the fish think he or she gets the award when using his energy for going active chasing a probably good meal must be most of the time at least be rewarding .in my theorie the fish will most likely be triggered by feeling in the first place rather then seeing in most of the lakes I fish. so for me speed and noise patterns i can create with using various baits is a much greater believe in. You know something about fish that can follow a pattern in the watercollum? Much like a dog can search a track with his biggest weapon his nose. I really want to see something like that be confirmd. Thanks for al the great content you guys make.

Im a kid from Latvia and trying to catch big pike in a big river where one side is steep and rocky and other little bit sandy and shallow, the deepest point is 30m. Ive been trolling in 30m and the lure goes in the middle of water but no big pike, in shallow no big pike only little 1kg pikes. I want to know your recommendations on how to catch. It seems to me that at dusk, morning and evening, you need to use bright acidic baits - chartreuse, yellow and they should glow in the ultraviolet. In the daytime in cloudy weather, use colors closer to natural, and in clear weather, dark colors, such as motor oil.

Pontus, You made fishing mistake #6, fishing a moving bait in cold water!!! I almost never fish a moving bait in cold water. I stick to one of two methods in the cold water months, either large suspending jerkbaits like the Megabass Kanata or even an Rapala HJ14. I fish them on a semi slack line and jerk the slack line, so you snap your rod with a twitch, twitch, and then long pause from 5 to 15 seconds, but keeping just a little slack in the line while your bait is paused. They will always hit this while the bait is paused so be ready. This is a proven method that I have developed over the years and you will catch a lot more fish in the winter months doing this. My other favorite winter bait is a big flutter spoon like the Big Ed Flutter Chuck by Eppinger. These you fish by making long casts in open water and letting the bait fall on a tight line till it hits bottom then rip it up a few feet and let is fall again. You will always get your hits as the lure falls. You can use the jerkbaits up till the water gets up over 55 degrees after that I switch to moving baits about 90% of the time. Let me know how this works for you

I'm not sure than i'm doing wrong, Had 3 years without a single fish and tried multiple different waters. And now this year i've gotten pretty much nohing aswell. 5 pikes and 1 perch. 4pikes under 1kg and 1 pike 1,6kg and the perch was something around 400g I've read online what the fish may like and where they might be certain time of the day. Im on my summer vacation and have been fishing everyday making anywhere between 3-10hr days without a single bite, fishing from land and from boat. I have started to believe there are no fish in the waters im fishing. There is one lake that has had the record for biggest pike-perch or what it is called in english and that lake has also the biggest amount of them planted there. over 30 000 fish in the last 10 years and 3 full days on that lake has given 0 bites on any of my lures. Im going to keep doing it because i believe i will get lucky and it's still very calming to be middle of nowhere on a lake

Mistake number six: don't give too much attention to what other people say. Sometimes you come up with a plan and are told that it makes no sense. Do it anyways! Maybe exactly THIS will be the best day of fishing. So trust yourself and YOUR instincts! And number 7: try to fish differently than everyone else on the water. Often lakes/rivers are standing under high fishing pressure and the fish will know the lures by their article number. Try something different (for example a fly with a jig head or so). It often works out good!

How do you not make a birds nest when casting those distances? I mean I know it very much is just a practice thing, but I will go 20 casts just fine, then on the 21st of doing the same thing I create a nest so bad I have to call it a day with this particular bait caster.
@Bato-ib1qf

Always spool the braid/mono real tight. Adjust the brake on the reel so as to not let too much line out on the cast. It’s always good to keep your thumb close to the spool when casting and trapping the spool just before the lure hits the water. I followed these few rules and soon eradicated any birds nests. Hope this helps
