I totally agree! Be yourself! Resentment can build when you force yourself to conform to other people's expectations of how you should record a video instead of doing what comes natural to you! Your *true* supporters will not tell you to change who you are, they will enjoy the parts of you that make... YOU! Love the voices ;)

Great advice. I really like the advise about not getting caught up with the dock talk and trying to catch other people's fish. The hardest thing for me is not fishing memories., places where you've done well in the past but as you said the weather, wind, etc. changes all that. It's hard to pass up that sweet looking lay-down but sometimes ya just gotta!

Good job! It’s crazy how powerful your mind can be. In a tournament I’ve probably second guess my 100th guess. I will say my #1 mistake is waiting to long to listen to my gut feeling.

Jonny you do a great job! I like the detail you go into, especially the tournament type videos. The part that I like most about that setup is that it goes into your thought process to how you find and catch fish. You eluded to it in this video but I like hearing your plan a, b, c because I hope I get good enough that I can go into days with a better gameplan.

The number one mistake that tournament fishermen make is assuming that BIG BASS will chase a lure. The biggest fish in the lake feed at night when the prey is easy to catch. These big fish are smart and lazy. If you want to put them in the boat during daylight hours, you need a slow enticing approach. The other fishermen are using baitcasters and fast retreivals. They are catching small 3 and 4 pounders but the 10 pounders are not chasing or biting the bait. I would use a plastic worm no weight applied and a Zebco spin caster to throw it a mile. The new Zebco reels are nice. They have ball bearing drag systems and are much better than the old school junk that they made before. The most important reason for using this reel is the unlimited casting distance that is available regardless of the lure weight. The slow sink and twitch approach using a plastic worm is an easy meal. That is what the big fish want. They don`t want to chase a lure. They got their belly full the night before when the prey was easy to catch. They are not really hungry during the day. The small ones will chase it but that is not what you are after. The slow worm sink with a slight twitch will entice those big ones to hit.

I love your videos, man! Great job. I also like the “funny voice” for the “top 5” lists. So don’t worry about the comments not to do that. It’s hilarious. But I do have one critique. The lighting for your intro scenes (when your at desk, in front of painting) could be better. On my iPhone you look to be sitting in a shadow. Get a couple white poster boards and set them up behind the camera to reflect some light back at you. 🤔 Just a thought. I think you have best content on KZbin when it comes to fishing. So your aesthetics should match that!

Whether or not your above surface tournament is competing with other anglers, every fun fishing trip is a competition between the angler and the fish. Man v. Nature. It goes back to caveman days.

@fish the moment you need to remove that thumbnail pic of lambert! that’s not cool at all! lambert wasn’t in the wrong! as much research you do, you should research what happened. lambert was first on the spot since day 1! haynes went after! lambert was 1st to the spot and haynes came to fish it as lambert was STILL ok with haynes pulling up to fish it. get your facts right please, thanks.
