There's something I find very touching about Brian holding up Lee Anne's mom. Everyone is really lovely in that whole clip.

The last clip warms my heart how they help Mama Wong out the kitchen and then the competition helps Chef Wong

The fear in Lee Anne's voice as she tried to hold her mum up brought me back to my last moment with my mum... I was so terrified also... I dont have the right to say this, but I am grateful that she was surrounded by the beautiful support shown here.

Lee Anne's mom makes me cry every time. I only hope people would react so kindly if someone saw my mother struggling like that.

i always felt Lee Anne's challenge was messed up. some contestants got spouses or siblings who are professional Chefs. Lee Anne gets her elderly mom, whom I'm sure has plenty of wisdom to offer, but not nearly the energy comparable to the other helpers.

and they had to work in the heat! I definitely love and appreciate these kinds of episodes conceptually but this one especially felt stacked against Lee Anne due to how the relatives they picked worked out.

I don't see Mia leaving as quitting

I agree totally. Mia took the cowards way out because she was afraid to compete.

I have watched the scene where Mia sacrifices herself for Elia, and thought it was noble at first. However, upon repeat viewing I now think Mia gave up. After both Elia and Cliff dismissed her suggestions during the challenge and were the ones responsible for the loss, and Cliff (That Uncle Tom plank of wood.) threw her under the bus, Mia decided she didn’t want to play anymore. Mia plays martyr but is actually taking the coward’s way out because she was afraid to compete. Elia is no better a chef than Mia or she would not have lead the team to failure. Elia or Cliff should have suffered the consequences for their bad decisions. Yet a privileged Elia watched and accepted Mia’s actions. I am so glad Elia didn’t win and Cliff was expelled from the competition in disgrace. Tom should not have allowed Mia to fall on her sword for the unworthy Elia. 🤨🤨🤨

Elia should’ve gone home not Mia

She shouldn't have volunteered to leave then. She's a quitter quite literally. To pretend it was because she was being humble was a joke. A fighter doesn't give up and use a sad attempt for an excuse. There's nothing wrong with admitting when one is tired and or overwhelmed. She should've just said it.

I love seeing this kindness on the *_USA_* version of a cooking show. It is kinda sad that it feels so rare to watch kindness like this when in (mostly) Canadian and Australian shows uts actually common.

*"I've gone through so much hardship in my life! I've never given up on anything! ...so that's why I'm randomly quitting this competition!"* ...wut?
