New to your channel, can't get enough of it! Highly interested in this sort of exploration and would love to join you on one of your explores. Keep up the good work, stay safe, and for christ sake, both you and Chris should invest in some toetectors and dust masks 👍🏻

I think the rule should be that if anyone doesn't feel comfortable in any of these places then you should get out. The simple thing is that hindsight has never saved a life, but acting on an initial gut feeling has saved millions.
@General_Confusion7 жыл бұрын
I'm sure it would be a great comfort to Ian, to know that after he has been squashed flat like a pizza from a cave in, that other people will look at his misfortune and say 'Best not go there it doesn't look safe'. Maybe i should rephrase. If you are dead, hindsight will do you little good.

Very glad that you show people this. Doing what you do takes some skill beyond just walking in and rumbling around like a mad dog. I agree totally that some locations should not be revealed as that might lead to unneccesary injuries to people who does not know or care how to do it properly and get out from there safely. Well done.Thanks again for sharing great material and Greetings from Ww2HistoryHunter

So just to confirm, you carry little to no safety gear, make jokes about it when someone genuinely asks, but at the same time make a video warning people about the dangers of such places. You lecture everyone else not to go these places, you won't disclose locations because somehow you delude yourself that you are better than anyone else who acts without any due diligence or responsibility for their own actions.. Got it.

Well consider the cost vs. dying cause of bad air. I really enjoy your videos, and these new vlogs are great (maybe use manual focus next time). I'd hate to hear that you were injured or hospitalized because of bad air. I live in Nevada where we have huge numbers of old mine tunnels, and we lose people every year due to toxic air. Keep up the great films, I look forward to your weekly posts.

If you guys like tunnels, check out the Victoria Tunnels in Ouseburn, Newcastle upon Tyne. They are open to the public for tours, and back in the 1800s was a mining tunnel to transport materials to the river, before being converted to an air raid shelter.

Great top 5 thanks I really enjoyed this video. You've certainly been to some incredible and unique locations. I actually feel really privileged just to get to view them on KZbin. Sir I salute you you and your friends are very brave but I worry about how safe some of these places are, especially when you have such little gear but I do really appreciate you showing us around them. I will just say please always trust your gut instinct because it's pretty much always right. I'd really hate you to get trapped down there or something and no one know where you are so pleeeease be careful. That being said though I love you channel so much. Keep up the great work and happy exploring :-)

Great vid, ... I would definitely do all of these hikes given the chance. I do wish you guys would wear boots and gloves, and even face/dust masks sometimes. All that aside, I love your vids, and hope they continue for a long time to come.

Try exploring old mines in the Western United States. Two I am lucky to have survived are the May Lundy Mine in Lundy Canyon, North of Lee Vining, Ca. and the Silver Canyon Mine in the White Mountains just East of Bishop, Ca. Both are huge with multiple levels and tunnels dating from the 1870's. Also "Zero Adit" on Northwest (opposite side) side of Wheeler Crest from Rock Creek Canyon, which is an old exploratory extension of the old Union Carbide Pine Creek mine. To get an idea of how insanely big Pine Creek Mine is watch this video and realize that in the main Stope (hallow cavity inside the mountain) there is literally enough space to fly a Piper Cub light aircraft. There are ore dump shafts that are thousands of feet deep between the upper and lower levels of the mine. The mine is upside down, the entrance is the lowest point and everything goes up from there. Fascinating and frightening place: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jn3QYoaje5V8frc

You can't buy mil surplus, Gore Tex jump boots Ian? Nothing like being egged on into adventures with your mates. Short 10 mile hikes in the northcountry, no supplies, and returning after 3 expletive laden days, eating berries. Boots like Merrell's £145 keep you dry and have grip that lasts for @ least 7700 km before wearing out, that's what I get at least and admit I had to look up WTHeck a km is, US vs UK. They also have mid height support, ankles don't get screwed up as easy.

IKS Exploration Good day my friend, To explore the unknown or places that haven't entered in many years, are very interesting to say the least. Back in the early seventies, some were talking of razing Ellis Island buildings to make room for hi-rises, believe it or not. So, myself and an enterprising friend made plans for a visit before such actions could begin. There were underground tunnels and rooms that were like time capsules from fifty years ago. Coffee urns, typewriters, desks and an assortment of odds and ends that had to be of some interest to historians. No gold or hidden treasures stashed by the immigrants trying to get over on paying duty or taxes or what ever they had to pay. But I found it extremely interesting being in a place that maybe no one else had been for years. Happy hunting in the future, and stay safe.
