I have a 25 (!!!) year old caviar leather Chanel. And, the leather looks perfect. The only wear is a little piece of gold chipped from the CC clasp and there are 1 or 2 time thread pulls. I could send it back to Chanel to be fixed but it takes forever (I had 2 other bags done in the past) and the wear doesn't bother me that much. My very dear friend only buys and wears one LV bag at time. Her last one was black EPI leather and she carried it for about 8 years and it still looks amazing. I agree with all your picks. =) The Hermes Togo leather is also quite durable all my Hermes bags are this leather and they all still look perfect.

I sprayed my pochette Métis with apple garde spray from Amazon at the recommendation of Shea Whitney. I was caught in the rain in Portugal and the water literally rolled off of the leather. My bag didn’t get soaked but it was pretty wet and I’m happy to say that there were no water marks on it. Try spraying your vachetta to avoid water marks. It doesn’t stop it from getting a patina though.

first off: your Balmain blazer is out of this world - the colour is so amazing! for the video itself: in my experience, yes material matters but construction of the bag also does: a very structured bag may end up getting corner wear more than a less structured one. (epi leather...) For the most durable leathers out there are Hermes pebbled leathers: Clemence, Togo, Fjord. Plus the repair option makes the bag a lifelong investment. I had a Double Sens, which is unstructured clemence and that bag looked almost brand new after 2 years of very heavy daily use. Chanel Caviar is great, I agree. LV Canvas can break if not stored properly and then no way to fix the bag. YSL is afforable but corners and edges can chip after a while. Interesting on the Antigona - thanks for sharing!

I also think the Louis Vuitton Epi leather is very durable. Also Epi is low profiled with luxury quality. But somehow its price on second market is not that good comparing to canvas. I am a big fan for Louis Vuitton Epi.

You can't get a more durable bag than a vintage Coach bag. Seriously. I own the LV Speedy and Metis among other brands and can honestly say that my vintage Coach bags are top. Actually ANY vintage bag is made better than the bags of today. My vintage Coach wallet is by far made better than my Hermes wallet!
