Roguecraft is the best wow video ever. "Rogues are scissors." "Warriors are rock." "Hunters, paladins, priests, druids, mages, and shamans are paper." "Warlocks are mushrooms." "Paper beats rock." "Scissors beat paper." "Scissors also happen to beat rock..." "Until rock hits sixty at which point rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that also beats paper, and would beat scissors, but it can't find scissors, because scissors are invisible. So scissors beat paper and avoid rock, and that is called balance."

It's hard to pick the best warrior video for a top 5 of all PVP videos ever. Laintime was, hands down, the best video when it came to showcasing skill. Pat's first video (world PVP in Valor with an OEB) made us all aware of Scrolling Combat Text and, to a lesser extent, the latest Rob Zombie album. His second video (High Warlord with 52 talent points) showcased why Blizzard never wanted MS warriors to have Deathwish as well as showing how a warrior with pocket heals and 2 rows of buffs can become a raid boss. Maydie's video taught warriors all about Recklessness and, IMO, was the most entertaining.

Missing Laintime in this. Wasn't followed by a pocket healer, didn't show off with insane gear and crits. Showed a lot of skill and creative gameplay in his vids. For me alongside with Vurtne S tier: people that were miles, miles ahead of any other PVP-player.

No Pat for Warr, really? The guy defined the bg experience for Warr. Till this day, every Warr still tries to do the Pat thing of rushing into a ton of reds, with topline gear, windfury and pocket heals, and destroy everything in sight (even though the class can't be played like that anymore). Also, Stuck for rogues. A forgotten rogue, but, an important one, also. When Mute made world of rogue craft, he was emulating Stuck's Nerf Dirks (starter rogue weapon). Stuck wasn't the greatest, but he did a lot of firsts never seen before, even NOT keyboard turning, since everyone back then did. Also, stuff like gouge+exit combat+ restealth. Finally, do I even need to mention Faxmonkey for mages?

None of these "streamers" were on anyone's radar back then.... they were just some random player. And any warrior running around with top tier gear, a thunderfury and a healer in random BGs would do this. For the record... good for him. it's what made wow fun back then.

Vurtne is easily #1 for me and Drakedog #2. These 2 had an enormous impact on their respective class among the community. When you looked up Drakedog and Vurtne on Armory, you had 90% copycats of each. You didnt give enough justice to Vurtne sadly in the video.

If you had never heard of him then you obviously were living under a rock. Yes all of the others were top pvpers, but the difference is Drakedog was showed the world how Warlocks should really be played and used to maximise their power. His playstyle transformed the class from being seen as a joke to being feared and respected in pvp, and that's why he should be number 1.

I wouldn't say these guys were the most influential, they are probably just the best known when it came to recording and publishing their gameplay videos. I played on Gurubashi the first 5 years of WoW, and we had guys on there that were just as good if not better at PVP. Starsky and Hutch were a very well known Alliance duo that whole guilds would try to take down whenever they pop'd up. I'm not dissing your video, just saying I think it needs a different title because there were influential players on the PVP servers that probably never posted their gameplay.

So a few things: Swifty had a number of vids before Incredible Warrior tricks. Also the naming of the vid is very inconsistent. Is this the most well known players or videos? Because you don’t seem sure yourself. Also it’s not particularly hard to describe in more detail the Vanilla game mechanics at work that made what was going on so important and not even giving details about the gear you mention vaguely. And others made the observation about the skull of impending doom being about the damage it dealt to yourself to break cc and not the movement speed. Nowadays you can get 12 things wrong on a video and still get considerable views.

It was never unlimited. There was just no cooldown. It had a chance to do 2 extra hits, but if you were lucky it could proc on every swing. As us Shamans favored slow 2-handers, this meant it would proc only every 3 sec or so. Still a lot, but it wasn't like we were hitting 20 times in one swing.

@V0r4xiz
@V0r4xiz 6 жыл бұрын
It didn't have "unlimited procs". It was a PPM like almost every proc in the game in classic. The appeal to use a two hander with WF is the fact that if a PPM is used with something that only hits every 3.6 seconds, it meant that it has a statistical 60% chance of proccing off a regular white swing. Yes, it could proc off itself for like half a content patch (!!!) but that's it. Only one moment in time. Not all 2 years of vanilla. That's simply wrong. So much fore "why talk if you don't know what you're talking about?" Arrogant shithead know nothing bitch. WF always was a proc that gave you 2 additional white swings (in one patch, those were ability hits: yellow) with 300 extra attackpower period.

I liked Heinous the most, especially the part where he split screen duels Maydie and wins dozen of them at the same time

The naked rogue fighting that blue geared warrior (not epic geared at all) is kinda a bad example. That warrior was just completely terrible. Would love to see if he could do that to an actual epic geared warrior who isn't useless. The outcome would be very different!

man, i really miss that old swifty. When he would spend him time working out ways to utilize otherwise useless items and figure out "clever usage of game mechanics" then edit together with some cool music and effects. These days he just uploads 15 minute clips from his streams :/

Gegon were some good videos that had gotten me into wow. I see it had been reuploaded, but he was hitting hard for a 2005 video. Just no fear.
