Awesome video idea! I've really enjoyed playing with PKOLL's crazy paddles! And I agree the Bigwood has some similar attributes to Nomex paddles. Really can't believe the core's honeycomb is all wood. And that thing has some power, too!

Tried a "PBZ" syle about 7 years ago, Not my jam. Some guys over in Lake Havasu where the designer lives, play with it on the regular. Bigwood is also a head turner. I have one and it plays great. BRICK HOUSE also uses a wood face. Just got the OM EVO that's a concept paddle and not approved, but since the Gen3s have flooded the Rec, I don't care if it's not approved. Also have a VICE.

@@jonnygibaud7954 It takes some adjusting to for sure. No swing needed hardly. I liked how it drops with no effort. Much less obvious as a concept than my VICE.

John you know me...and you should know I think that name is anything but unfortunate hahaha

It’s not weird when it’s spelled correctly, which is “Bigwood.” It’s the owners’ partners’ last name and an amazing play on words given what it’s made of!!

I'm a wood grain fan from an aesthetic point of view. You can't choose from grains that have more character. So there's that.

Great video concept letting us know what's unique and fun in your arsenal, I would totally buy all 4 trainer paddles to rep all the paddle reviewers! I wasn't familiar with Revolin before this, so I went back and watched YOUR Revolin Revo Pure Control review from back in the day (that video is when you truly took over as host). With the new Revolin Pro Pure Hybrid for advanced and Rise for beginner players, do you think they have a good enough line-up to ambassador for as a pickleball coach? I'm currently with another manufacturer, but I would really like to help make the sport more sustainable!

maybe the big wood guys could use the basalt rock fibers on the face of their wooden paddle

Would be interesting to see a racket with Balsa core with Limba outer ply, and potentially a Kevlar or Carbon sheet under the Limba. Basically Yinhe T11 table tennis racket scaled into pickleball. I think it would have some epic properties, both pop and dwell, which could lead to serious spin increase.
@marionsigurdson13923 ай бұрын
Will check out the KC1 from Standout Pickleball, the spinoff company from SixZero. The paddle face is Kevlar, titanium and carbon fiber mix. Their CF3 plays as if the BD and DBD had a baby

im close to pulling the trigger on the shogun- elongated with pop but can play softly and acceptable sweetspot, mmmm. It would be epic if you walked onto the court with the falcon in your left hand as a 'shield' for blocks and the pikol in the right as a 'sword.'

Btw. I know first hand from the factory that the “titanium” weaved into the face is actually just aluminum. Apparently it’s the same with tennis rackets. Whenever you see a titanium racket, it is also aluminum. Not sure how the industry has gotten away with that for so long.
