What are your thoughts on V7 SH vs LH?
@PickleballWill18 күн бұрын
LH feels a bit more maneuverable but the SH has better sweet spot. Albeit no by much in my opinion. I personally prefer SH versions of the V7s

I don't want to bash any D1 players who put in work to get where they are, but ORU tennis is marginal at best. Win very few matches and sometimes win very few games against top teams. But they're still light years ahead of any pickleball players athletically.
@PickleballWill21 күн бұрын
Any? That might be a stretch…but maybe “most” would be more appropriate if we are talking strictly athletics

I hope you will reply even though it's been several months since you posted this. I purchased this paddle because I watched your video, love your posts. Anyway I bought the 117 swing weight and I have been having pain on the top part of my right hand every time I play with it. Do you think if I go down to the 115 swing weight that will help? Please let me know thanks
@PickleballWill21 күн бұрын
It might help you a little bit I wouldn’t count on it being the sole reason. I would have someone take a look at your technique to see how that might causing you some pain. Hope this helps!

Had a gen 2 and loved it. Got a Gen 3 (as well as a Mage Pro gen 2) in November. I love both paddles, but the Viva Pro has been my go to....until yesterday. Ball suddenly was rocketing off the face, completely uncontrollable. Squeezed the sweet spot, and yep...crinkling noises. Just about 6 weeks of daily use, no modifications, no weight added, and the core crushed. Reached out to Hudef via email yesterday to see if there is anything I can do, awaiting a reply. Using the Mage for now, which isn't a bad thing, I love it almost as much, but I am disappointed with the Viva Gen 3 breaking down so quickly. Anyone else having this problem?

@rich3419Ай бұрын
Thanks Will. I've been playing with the Viva Gen 2, and have been highly satisfied. I'm going to try out the Gen 3, though I think the Gen will continue to be the paddle off my choice since my muscle memory is tuned to it. I hope you continue to review the more budget friendly paddles along with any comparisons that you can make. For me, the swing weight is the only negative with the Viva paddle, otherwise a great all-around paddle at a very reasonable price. Perfect as a "first" premium paddle.

If you have any paddles that you would like to donate to our local community pickleball group we would greatly appreciate it .
You played really well! Is that the Thrive Threat paddle? It seems to hit fairly hard with good spin. I recently watched the group video with the 5 or 6 of you guys saying what paddle you would use at a tournament. You made an interesting choice that made me think about myself. I've been playing for 2 years and am rated between a 3.5 and 4.0. I used to mostly play with control paddles, but the last 3-6 months I started trying more Power paddles because I get a faster serve and put aways. Also some of the new ones I get much better spin on my serves and drives. But yes, some of them are harder to control or to keep the ball in. Over the 2 years I have bought 10 paddles, and keep searching for the best one for me, then selling the one's I don't like as well. Currently my favorites are the Ronbus Pulsar FX R2, the MOD TA 15, and the Paddletek Bantam TKO 14.3. I am doing a 30 trial of the Pickleball Apes Pulse S, and have tried a friends Ronbus Ripple. I went crazy with the amount of spin I can get! But when you mentioned you decided to back off the power paddles and you would use a Thrive Threat you made me curious. Maybe I should use a paddle like that until I upgrade my skills so I can control the ball better, dink more confidently and become a Reset machine. Hit less balls out and hit one more shot until they make the error. Are you really liking the Threat? Maybe I should return the Pulse and not get the Ripple, and store my MOD until later. What do you think? PS- I took a 2 day intensive from Jordan Briones and he says I should bring a good control paddle to his clinic, but he showed me how to put more topspin on my serves and wow, with the MOD I was serving great. But I do need to get better. Hope to hear from you real soon before I make another bad purchase!!

I own all three Proxr paddles from last year and love them, especially the standard 14 mm. I now own the new Signature Zane, New Connor Garrett and the Sweet Spot 13 mm. I've added the Sylce end cap and lead on bottom of paddle and love it. The power has increased with the 13 mm. I've sold off my last years paddles and got $100-$125 each for them.

For all things that are said about paddles I still think a well-made solid wood works best for me. It’s simply the paddle technology I know how best to use: it doesn’t send balls flying when I take a good swing, it doesn’t dampen the ball so far I could barely feel contact, and its weight reacts well to opponents spin and pace and slows me to play for placement. It is heavy enough to generate power with a long but moderate swing. It doesn’t entertain poor form. These days I see people playing with their wrist on virtually all strokes, even volleys, and that drives me nuts. It can’t be healthy for the joints to play with that much wrist and when there’s no time to brace properly. There’s a good reason why the forecourt is played with a locked wrist. 😅

What are you thought on Anna Bright Joola 3s Scorpeus. Do know the rpm of this paddle?
@PickleballWill2 ай бұрын
To me it’s solid but a little underwhelming if you are looking for power when you compare it to the gen3 and other power paddles out there. Still good pop, I also find the grit level varies a lot between them. Some get super good grit while others don’t, I don’t have rpm numbers on them

I like the idea of playing singles with a tennis racquet or with Padel paddles. You would do better with gut string and the gut string strung tight.

@@PickleballWill Thanks so much for your response. I appreciate it! I have liked this video and subscribed to your channel. I went ahead and purchased the Vatic Prism Flash. I just started playing in an intermediate class (I used to play tennis way back in high school), and I'm getting pickleball elbow really bad though, using a Head paddle. I'm hoping the Vatic will help to decrease that. Any other advice you have would be much appreciated on how I can address the elbow pain. I enjoy playing, but if this will be a continued issue, then I guess I'll have to give it up...or play much less often than once or twice a week.

i like the unboxing vids as a change of pace, strangely relaxing, lol. i have the orange shapeshifter. boy is it orange, looks like im going hunting. very interesting all- court as i find it, in general, a bit soft leaning but pop/drives hit like a true all-court. dinks are amazing. i like the melin a-game as a performance hat (hiking/sports), not necc for comfort. i have a smaller head and find that it sticks up. the odyssey is massive on me. e-bay was like $35-40 so a discounted new one for $50 is not terrible, they are premium quality in my opinion (i haven't tried other similar hats though.) Now they just need to make a 'legend' style athletic hat, like a cross btwn a-game and legend.
