I think productivity has a lot to do with your growing conditions. These were my 5 most productive heirlooms last year (central Illinois): Sart Roloise (yellow/purple shoulders), Purple BumbleBee (large cherry/ awesome flavor), Terra Cotta (dark orange), Large Barred Boar (dark red/green/BIG), and Snow White (small saladette sized). I single-stem, vertical garden (except on the Bumble Bee which got ahead of me and took over half my garden).

I had a black cherry that took over too. I couldn't keep up with the harvest and fruit was rotting and falling everywhere. Consequently, I had a thousand volunteers this spring. It was not on my grow list for this year, but decided to give one plant a chance for its resilience and determination. 😂😂 They're still sprouting everywhere. 😅

Honestly we had a June 15th frost last year that stunted or killed all the tomatoes in my area, I was one of few gardeners who got tomatoes by the end of the season and it was only 2 plants out of 20. They were the 2 giant crimsons I planted and I got enough tomatoes off them to can salsa and marinara for the entire year! They were the most prolific tomatoes I have ever grown, my season is too short for a whole ton of production but it's dry so disease isn't an issue

We had a lousy year in 2022 due to drought. Out of 10 plants we got about 2 dozen tomatoes (including the cherry tomatoes). This year I have 48 plants 🙀, 10 cherry and 15 large tomatoes with 2 of most varieties. Of course we’ve gotten more rain this year (S TX) so I’ll be swimming in tomatoes soon. I’m most excited about the Pineapple and Pink Brandywine. We always grow Kellogg’s Breakfast and Red Brandywine so looking forward to the many varieties this year that we’ve never grown.

My aunt came over and could not believe the buds on this plant. I have not tried one yet as the tomatoes on them are still green. Black Cherry, all the proper flavor of a 'black' Krim (produces more and quicker then the cherokee or brandy) in a quick small tomato. Quick to ripen and becomes a huge vine, I grow it up metal box frames, 3ft to the first bar, 4ft then max of 5ft with a horizontal bar at the top in case I need the space (like layered tables, spaced and staked twice)- I only plant ONE Black Cherry all within eye level I can let 9ft of vine grow in central michigan

Hey Luke, I started some Tiny Tim and Brandywine Pink from seed TWICE. Both times, they germinated nicely. I kept them evenly moist. They grew about 1 inch and then stopped growing. Could this be a seed problem?

Luke I love this type of content I’d loved to hear a top 10 or more. I have to say I was very sad with Rose De Burne good taste but sadly mines weren’t as productive but want to give them another shot so if you have some advice for Rose de Burne let us know. Thank you

Yes, paste tomatoes are great for salsa. San Marzano and Opalka are also good ones.

My most productive tomato BY FAR year after year has been blueberries tomatoes from migardener seeds. At the end of the season it’s the only tomato plants I have that are still alive and thriving because of the humidity here in kentucky.

So, it isn't necessarily TOO late to start tomatoes. Mine were all started just a little over a month ago and they are already really big, like more than large enough to already have gone in the garden a couple weeks ago! And I still have over 3 weeks to go before I can plant them outside. I started a couple more types a couple weeks ago and they'll be big enough to go out at the same time.

I grow the Ace 55 every year it’s great for canning and is pretty flexible for making salsa spaghetti sauce or just eating with a little salt ❤

I'm trying out 4 types that I saved seeds from fruit I got from some Amish last year. Mountain Fresh, Mountain Merit, Jerusalem, and Big Rainbow. I figure they know what to grow, ha.

Luke, have you tried 4 th of July, I grew it last year for the first time, and it out produced every other tomato I tried. It has great disease resistance also.

Nice video! This is the first time I've actually clicked the link for any KZbin sponsor, but I signed up on Farmish just 45 minutes ago and already have an order for 4 dozen farm fresh eggs waiting for me! I've been looking for a new contact since last summer when I lost my egg supplier because a coyote ate most of her chickens. :-(
