For me, I think the ending of volume 8 with the last tarot club meeting, the historical projection dance, Klein's walk through the door and then him high-fiving Melissa's neice was beyond peak. I think it was a perfect way to end the first book and it hit so hard because Klein had truly been a part of me for the 3 month journey that was reading lotm for the first time.

I really like the one that challenging character's morality the most. So top 3 for me. 1. Audrey - She knew a long time ago that Beyonder's road was not a sunshine one. Tread them with an optimistic smile. Until the very end, experiencing it herself. "So, this is the price of growing up" hits really hard. 2. Madame Daly - They both knew that they have each other's heart, yet can't be pursue. Caged by their own guilt and fear. Truly the tragic yet beautiful unrequited love of all times. 3. Elder Lovia - Environment shaped the way who you are. We followed Klein's perspective and Derrick's too, got influenced by him. Casting out Elder Lovia as a follower of evil god. She taught us a painful reason. Who are you(both characters and us readers) to judge? Everyone ought to do something for their own people. Everyone was desparated, so do her.

LOTM was one of the few times I really felt emotional at character’s deaths and that just show good the story is as basically every who finished it agree on how good the story was. Also basically every ending of a volume was nearly perfect.

My first read of lotm was more than 2 years ago, back then i actually found vol 1 very slow and boring except the ending which honestly made me cry 😭😭. I used to read the comments back then and people used to say that if u re read the novel then only you can know the true beauty of vol 1 . Now at the present time i can confirm that they were right, i already read the entire lotm book 4 times and had to re read twice only for vol 1 and 6 . Vol 1 is indeed slow/boring at the start but with its ending and the small peaceful time back then I'll put vol 1 in top 3 of all time Rip old neil and Rip captain Dunn 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤
