@burkerow7 жыл бұрын
You're correct, you probably get flagged if you try to fill it in a fuel station anywhere. Where this hack comes in handy is if you run out of fuel and you can siphon some gas from a buddy's bike or from a car. Siphon the gas into the bag, and then transfer it into your bike.

@SmallSpoonBrigade7 жыл бұрын
That's not the only issue. I bought a stand, it was like $7 and it has two features that the card won't, one is that it has a little ridge so that the kickstand is less likely to slip off. The other one, is that it came with a hole drilled for a string. I can drop it on the ground and put it under the kickstand with my foot. When I want to ride away, I can retrieve it via the string. And, I always keep it under my rear seat just in case. It's a bit of a pain, but it means that I don't have to worry about holding the bike up while I place it.

One tip, if you are going to ride in the wet without waterproof boots, you can slip your foot with socks on over a plastic bag then into your boot. Keeps your socks from getting wet and it also helps keep them warm. Does nothing for your boots tho. Snow Seal what what we coated our boots with to keep them waterproof.

I carry a junction-box cover for my kickstand expander. It is 4+ inches in diameter and 10 gauge steel and will never melt, fold or collapse even under the weight of my Victory Vision on a sunny day in July. Added a bit of string with a loop around the handle bar and I can pull it up and store it in the dash pocket while sitting on the bike with a passenger on board. A hotel card would be toast...or goo.

Instead of a coffee container here's what I use in the UK and Europe when touring. A Condom, rubber or what ever you call them over there. Simple and very small to carry. Simply place in a sock to support and fill up, job done and will hold about 2 to 3 litres. I also carry about a metre of 6mm hose (Pipe from an tropical fish aquarium is perfect) to siphon from another bike if necessary. Much smaller.
