Use that with bass drops or transitions sidechained to bass elements. So your transitions have impact without fighting for low end with the bass. Also useful to get the bass out of the way of the kick very quickly. SUPER creative to use it on reverb though, putting that in my back pocket. Fabfilter Pro-Q 3 has the same feature, to use the sidechain only on specific bands.
@efnerva6644 жыл бұрын
@@enifyako Also TDR Nova (free) works just fine for this, although you can't side-chain individual bands separately.

Ef Nerva I haven’t used it in a little while, does it force all the bands’ dynamics sections to follow the sidechain? That kind of sucks. Either way, Yeah, if that’s what you’re using the dynamics in the plugin for, it works great. I used to use it for that exact purpose.

Out of curiosity, what genres do you normally mix where all of these plugins come into play together? I love the PCM native reverb bundle(using it like a lexicon 224) but if I didnt swear by it, Id probably be using that Valhalla & another vintage verb). Your fav plugins list needs more saturation lol...those compressors are nice though & that Slate rack Im guessing is your "go to" saturation. Anyway, for those who don't know: analog obsession has a new version of Rare, the eqp-1a emulation (version 6). I stick with Softube, Their Modular IMO is still One of if not the best Analogue eurorack Enviroment. It taught me so Much I bought 5 hardware synths as a result of how much had learned just from patching and learning even certain terms that as a 15 year plus producer i would see but never REALLY knew what it meant, its worth ten times what it cost just for what it can teach -Routing etc. Scaler- by Plugg in boutique a secret Hidden weapon for those that perhaps Know some Music theory nut perhaps struggle a bit on the keys, It allows you to use it to play through to any synth you have with one touch Luscious Chords that YOU Make NOT Neco although damn can that guy play piana. Best saturator again ( and theirs is free) is softubes Saturator knob. very simple three switch one knob, very effective and available in the Modular set up. The second- I would have to give a HIGH recommendation to ANYONE WHO HASNT HEARD OF EVENTIDES NEWFANGLED (yes the name) department, They Have Equivicate, an EQ with 26 CHANNELS!!!! based on the human ear drum, and allows one to choose where the bands are, one can even take the eq from a refrence track and apply to your track its ILLLLLL.!They also Have a Maximizer/DRIVER/LIMITER and saturator, where you can actual effect the curve of the softclip to the point it is almost indistinguishable from straight up analogue AMPS and Compressors. very nice. when one takes the effect off, ya really notice how much it ''pulls it all in'' even a 50-60 tracker. Softubes Monoment Bass? mix Ready bass with a Multiband built in. Honestly outside of me playing the bass, I have only used softubes Monoment bass and can super quickly can achieve anything from a stand up, to a super deep Sub woofer knockin block rockin bass. or eightees punchy euro bass, honestly those who dont have it get it, you will thank me as Bass is usually the first thing to be laid down on a track and it is so nice when needs not even add a COMPRESSOR as a longtime producer engineer thats hard for me to even believe but yeah its that good. The BX Brainworx Guys have amazing products as they build the peices and have a patent pending technolosgy that is incredible responsive like analogue. They have along with the SSL 4000g, also The Focusrite Desk, that had the Isa pre amps, The SSL 4000E ( the one before the G). and they recently this year released the 9000J series ( i wasnt as much of a fan of that one >? Im sure its awesome, I just really started to learn my way around the SSL 4000G console. and yes one actually has to like think when using it in chain as that need s to be the last thing in each chain before sent to the master where it also sits. ( with the SSL2+ tracking everythng comming in, especially with the 4k legacy mode..... yeah BOIIIII) it adds what some producers/Engineers refer to as that SSL 3d Sound, I actually understand (more so) what they mean. a Secondary strip that i feel is equally good just in a different direction somewhat is Izotopes Neutron3, That is a pretty good Channel strip from what I Have experienced. As far as Synths If I am Not using Modular lol. I do use the Arturia V collection as that had been on sale for a while. I was an Idiot, Bought the Buchla eisel, and then bought the package that included it. Arturuia uses a modeling tech called TAE ( i believe it stands for true analog emulation) something like that I may have even gotten the letters wrong. But again, they do nail the analogue sound and specifically for the models they represent. I had picked up the King by WA productions and as a Master Multiband Compressor/pusher I was fairly pleased. However for those of you who read until the end, your patience Has Paid off, Sign up to Plug in Alliance Download a Trial of Elysiums MASTER COMPRESSOR ( the hardware is 10,000 straight up and worth every frikkin penny). and the software, isnt THAT FAR OFF the BEST COMPRESSOR SINGLE HANDEDLY I HAVE EVER SEEN. You can boost flatten lower, you name it, you can even add low frequencies gain make up to one side and high frequencie gain make up to left you can control the soft clip, It has Feed forward instead of feed back,,,,, yeah its DOOOOOOPe and it comes with a wicked compressor for the track channels called the Mpressor. You are welcome. Finally hop over to D16 and grab your self a frontier, it is a push pull style Limiter Maximizer that I used for about Two years before using others, however i still use it, barely registers on the cpu, with the MASTER COMPRESSOR I still dont know how it can get the lufs it does, while leaving the decibals put. its some Vodoo fi real. I hope someone gets some insight from this. Bless AMP ROOM anyone. Softube just got fender and Marshalls name. Their Bass AMP called the WORLD TOUR by eden ( I have the Hardware....its identicle) scary. The third Saturator/Distortion I would have to give i do dig the brainworx SSLG series with patended tmt technology, it makes it an actual virtual Console, &2 channels DSP'd for that ass with the classic and MOST widely used SSL ever and SSL was so Impressed they actually worked Hand in Glove with Brainworks to make their Console, yeah its about 350$, however They usually have a once a year 30$ any plugg in. For mastering Obviously Izotopes Ozone Algos are Shizz fi real. So I have Ozone, RX7, Stutter edit1 amazing plugg in for like builds risers sweeps., and just randomization/Probabillity.

I wonder about the Maag. It makes sense in an analog world, where there does exist stuff over 20 kHz in the signal. But if the signal is digital and the sample rate is 44.1 kHz, I thought frequencies above 22050 Hz are technically impossible. So the real analog Maag would manipulate a signal that is inaudible yet existing, but how does this emulation do the same, when the signal is inexistent for real? Or have I misunderstood something?

The F6 looks good. I feel like I might not use the C6 as much if I had the F6.

Highly recommend it!

They are totally different things, C6 is also a marvelous tool. F6 is a multiband dynamic EQ while C6 is a multiband dynamic compressor.

@@markfluxx Yeah. I feel like there are certain things that I sometimes use the compressor for that might work better on the F6 though. E.g. De-essing.
