One same important parameter is the central stand. Most of all these options are limiting the choice of central stand. That means, if you get a (e.g.) Hepco protection skid plate, that means it will be combined with a Hepco central stand. The same issues for each brand. Central stand is extremely important especially at long journeys. So have in mind that you must proceed at a completed combination of all those stuff. Happy and safe rides to everyone.

Thanks for the comment, I'll test soon the compatibility of central stands with other skidplates, the brands don't mention about the central stand compatibility from my research which means it should fit. But let me know if you have any further information. Greetings

Some of us would never have a centre stand, it's far too heavy and get's in the way, so many times i've scraped that thing on different bikes I can't count ... there are many lightweight portable solutions available for both home workshop and travel.
@ride-fly-dive Жыл бұрын
That's a personal preference for everyone of us. I agree about the extra weight, but i can't forget how easy was the quick check and maintenance of the bike for every travel. Personally, coming from a Varadero MK2 at about 300 kg weight, the 235 kgs of the Transalp fully equipped with everything, it seems to me like a 15 days old kitty 😄@@dionoliveira4058

I got the sw motech skid and crashbars. With their foglights. A must have. Wore out the original tires at 9k KM. Front was worst. Had 2mm left at most. Witch was not useable here in Norway. Mounted the dunlop trailmax raid. Original honda center stand. Honda heated grips. Wind deflectors. Givi outback trekker 37L side paniers. Will change to lithium battery during this winter. Got the outex tubeless kit on the way. Aswell as mccruise cruisecontrol. Barkbusters(Needs extra barkbuster weights). Have changed out the suspension. Andreani rally at front and touratech at the back. Absolutely love this bike. Prob some other mods i have forgotten. I did test the africa twin. I feels very similar. Just 30+ kg heavier. Only reason for me to go to a AT would be dct. Witch sometimes is tempting. But the transalp has been very good to me. Very.

I’m confused whether to get the Africa, Twin or the Alp. Such a difficult decision I don’t know which way to go and you’ve ridden both? Advice? It out

Thank you Arthur for taking us through this maze of accessories, with their various compatabiities, features and downsides, weights etc. Weight critical for me, and I have removed the standard rear rack as it weighs... 7 kgs! I am making a lighter replacement at the moment. Somewhat ironic to an Australian to see the Outback brand sources from Hungary! I am inclined towards the Heed bash-plate, simply because it isn't as huge as some of the others, and looks like it might allow more access to work on the engine without removing the bashplate, and a little more air to circulate around the engine and pipes. Hard to assess all that on-line, but your video has been very helpful. But the large size of the bash-plates for this model relates to the run of the exhaust pipes, particularly in front of the engine, where the pipes sit further in front of the engine than appears necessary. Odd that Heed don't ship within Europe. Not sure how I will go ordering their bash-plate and lower bars from Australia. I will add a comment regarding this if/when they arrive here, from so far away! Thanks again for your thorough reviews, and tourism within your region. Both you and Pavlin have done a lot to promote tourism in your countries - makes us want to travel in eastern Europe! At least I should be able to source the Barkbusters handguards easily from here.

Thanks a lot for your comment, appreciate it. What about the large size skidplates damage the front pipes, I was thinking that for example the Hepco-becker bashplate protects better the front pipes due to it's size that covers it...

Hi any videos showing installing honda heated grips out there.
@jkmayhem11 ай бұрын
It is not a huge task. I plugged mine in the plug that is behind/under the screen plastic. Also clutch side housing needs to be opened as the wire goes through it. And you need that little plugg to be able to activate it in the menus.

What are your thoughts now because I’m looking at buying this bike and I’m not sure either
@Romenet3109 ай бұрын
@@TheZakkmylde well I only have about 200 miles on it so far since I bought in the winter. I would say it’s a fun bike to ride. I still haven’t quite gotten used to the quick shifter timing. I am very used to a quick shifter but so far haven’t found the sweet spot. I think I this bike could use a tuning to smooth out some of the rough edges, but that is just my opinion. And you could say that for most bikes these days. The suspension is not great but saying that I haven’t added preload yet so I shouldn’t complain. Still, I know I need to upgrade it or lose weight one. You get a LOT of bike here and it’s hella fun to ride

What do you think about the extended windscreen ? Is it a good option?
@IdealBike9 ай бұрын
If you have more than 180m could be an option, however it will increase the buffeting and noise, I would not recommend it honestly.

Hello, I see that you have the original engine and motorcycle guard from Honda. Do you think this is a better set than, for example, Swmotech, or is it just about the looks?

so your saying that you think that the H&B engine bars only would be enough to protect the bike panellig when falling on the side? and that you dont need the upper crash bars necessarily, correct?
@IdealBike10 ай бұрын
Yes. Still it depends quite a lot of the downfall. No matter how much protection the bike could suffer anyway 😁

any minimum speed before we can use the quickshift? its it okay to use it from Neutral to gear "1" ?
@IdealBike9 ай бұрын
The manual says from 2800 rpm up you can use the QS. You cannot use it from N to 1 (only the E-Clutch can do that). So the speed it's not as important as the Rpm is. Hope it helps

The number one must have is the classic original paint scheme. Honda North America made a foolish decision that “black goes with everything”.
@IdealBike8 ай бұрын
Haha you're right. The black it's nice if you put other decals or stickers to have contrast colour. Otherwise it's boring.

I want to buy this bike but I’m a little hesitant in terms of this bike or the Africa twin. Did this bike perform decent off-road and how is it performing on the road?
@IdealBike9 ай бұрын
The performance of the bike depends on the rider's skills. This bike can do quite a lot, off-roads, even trails, and it handles amazing on the on-road twisties. And it's twice cheaper than Africa Twin and 40 Kg lighter

H&B probably has the worst customer service among all this brands. Favoring one, the only one you have, just because you dropped the bike and it didn’t explode is not an unbiased opinion. Including Heed just because you have to include it, and checking on its products for this video, is quite non unbiased. For the sake of neutrality, you forgot H&B handle bars. Acerbis should give you some freebies, but in terms of protection, none of them is up to the level. I disagree with your presentation style, since you give different opinions based only on your limited knowledge. Would be better if you just list them, and keep your options private, so no brand is damaged, and we users get the info we want and choose by ourselves.

Thanks for the comment, the audiece should know what options are available, I cannot test everything. You have my real life feedback for OEM skidplate, Hepco&Becker bars (2 times tested already) and Acerbis Hadguards on my latest videos.Greetings!
