Yes, ye money market mutual funds hain yeh risk free hain lekin is profit main se apka tax bhi kary ga. for example apko 100 rupee ka monthly profit ho raha hai tou us main ro filer ke 15 rupay katen gain or non filer ke 30 rupay. Phir us main se AMC (mutual fund wali company) apni fee bhi katy gee phir remaining amount jo hogi wo apka total profit hoga.

Agar apki 1 lakh salary hai or aglay 10 saalon mai aap itne stocks khareed lety hain ky apka dividend hi mahana 1 lakh ke barabar hojaye tou phir stocks baichny ka koi faida nahi. Agar ap ghar banane ke liye stocks khareed rahy hain phir ap 10 saal mai apna portfolio bana ke 10 saal baad apna pura portfolio baich kar ghar bana ya khareed sakty hain.

Let's say our fund's return is 18% As 15% is tax for filer 15% of 18% is 2.715 So return is 18 - 2.715 = 15.385 Then there are fund charges, let's say 0.385 So return is 15% In 1 year we will get 15 thousand on I lac deposit Since inflation is 40% So 40 - 15% = 25% Means we made a loss of 25% Since ruppee also devalue by 50% in 1 year so We made a loss of 75% Bottomline is: no point in saving, spend everything and enjoy today otherwise you won't be able to afford same stuff with ur 15% extra money next year

It's not about math bt I guess you are right as both go hand in hand, and in that sense we should not add them bt rather take their average of about 45% and use that, which then gives a loss of buying power of 30% after one year
