I'm 35, m, with iga nephropathy, eGFR 32-33, managing well for the last 2 years, PCR is stable at 0.2-0.22, Creatinine is stable at 2.2-2.4, I have quit smoking after 15 years of smoking 10 🚬 daily, with the help of champix, reduced weight and now my bmi is 25-26, I used rebylsis. I'm doing brisk walk daily for 30-40 minutes. Eating healthy, avoiding salt, potassium, red meat. Eating 50-60 gram protein only on daily basis. Sleeping well. 6-7 hours each night. My Labs are fine currently, everything is under acceptable range, uric acid, vitamin D, Potassium, Bicarbonate and others. If I keep going like this, and no other abnormalities happen, by which age will I need dialysis. Just want to get an idea. My cholesterol is also fine. I did heart echo and stress tests. Both were fine. I also did lungs testing through pulmonolists, currently lungs are also fine, Alhumdulillah

Janab i am glad that you are taking you condition seriously and keep up a healthy lifestyle, which we all should do. As for the survival of your kidneys, it depends on the rate of fall of eGFR per year, say your GFR is now 39 ml/min, if it falls less than 2ml/min per year, your kidneys should technically last about at least 20 years or so, give and take, becasue it would take about 20 years to reach eGFR of 10 or less when you would need dialysis. But again this is an idea situation all CKD patients should aim for. Sometimes, disesases like IgA flare up in the middle and cause a rapid decline in Kidney function. But our job is to plan, work, and hope for the best. Good luck with your CKD. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for sharing your experience. No I dont thing steroids would help at this stage. You should start dialysis as your doctor says. and work for transplant. We do provide online consultation but my suggestion would be the same.

Thanks for sharing your experience. In this case, I am not sure what diet restrcitions you are following becasue you dont need any dietary restrictions except a healthy diet.
