Already used the Lifeshot on Sunday in our Agent Of Edgewatch campaign. My gunslinger pretended to take the enemy's side and betray a comrade when they did something shady so they loaded a Lifeshot bullet and pointed their gun at their injured comrade telling them to surrender. Then shot them and healed them so they could finish off the foes. It was such an awesome memorable moment!

Bonus: alchemical bombs in PF2 are considered one-handed martial weapons. Meaning that although the returning won't work since the bomb is consumed when thrown, this is the only way to get rune effects on bombs >:]

The throwers bandolier is really helpful for bombs as well, but only low level ones since the +1 is an item bonus. But it's also the only way to give bombs runes, which is awesome.

Fun idea, necromancer Yeats a blightburn bomb onto a bunch of zombies and send those guys into the frey. I believe they are immune to disease and poison so they should be good to carry it and continually radiate damage to their enemies

It says a creature that takes the persistent damage then radiates the splash damage. If the zombies don't take the damage, by rule they also aren't going to radiate damage.

Another argument for getting Treasure Vault before SoM or GnG is that classes are super convenient to look up on Archives of Nethys, but it can be much easier to quickly glance through a giant list of items in book form.

I think you got the blightburn sickness wrong, it has an onset of 1d4 days. So the target wouldn't enter stage 1 until 1d4 days had passed.
@LordTridus Жыл бұрын
Blightburn Sickness is from Extinction Curse and it's reprinted in Treasure Vault. It makes perfect sense in Extinction Curse as to why it's so slow, even if it seems somewhat out of context in Treasure Vault. Coda like the bagpipes have the advantage of being both a staff and an instrument at the same time, so a Bard can get their benefits of using an instrument (for spellcasting and such) and also use a staff. Since instruments are all two handed, they normally can't use both at the same time. Cool video. I'm really enjoying this book. :)

I love the idea of the Fortress Shield, but good LAWD the thing is BULK 5. How to turn your Champion in to a turtle in one easy step.
@BashfulBishop Жыл бұрын
I feel like you should have mentioned the fortress shield gives a whopping -10ft of movement speed meaning that if you don’t build around it you will be extremely slow so it’s not just better then other shields for characters with a bit of strength. But if you go with a dwarf or a human with adopted ancestry so they can take unburdened iron it can make for very fun character concepts. Definitely my favourite not magical addition in this book.
@jimbob929 Жыл бұрын
Also worth noting that If you're trying to combine the fortress shield and armor, you may find yourself pushing against your bulk limit as plate has 4 bulk while the fortress shield has 5. The easiest way to make a fortress shield work is actually to just throw it on a Monk as they don't need the armor and can easily make up for the movement speed penalty at level 3.
@KingFate20 Жыл бұрын
@@jimbob929 Probably a great time to consider a Story Based Crafting sidequest to get a set of Mithral Full Plate and a Mithral Fortress Shield to save 2 bulk.

Exposure to blightburn would be an excellent plot hook tbh. Have to get stronger and get powerful magic before they die of exposure. Combine this with a BBEG who is responsible, but not because he's evil. He's an alchemist trying to harness the power of the crystal to improve the world and got exposed. His family all died and now he's dying, too, and has been driven insane by the crystal and the loss. The BBEG is developing a massive blightburn weapon he intends to use to wipe out the city whose lord employed him to use the crystal to power things. Slowly uncover that the noble in question knew the dangers, but did it anyway because he didn't care about the risks and wanted to profit about it and didn't care about who got hurt because yay, capitalism. Anyhow, I'm off to go write an adventure.

2:32 This isn't true. In order to rune your armor you have to wear at least Explorer's Clothes which force a DEX cap of 5, meaning your DEX character can only ever add 5 to AC from base armor + DEX. Though you can't start with it Full Plate Gives 6 with no DEX involved and Full Plate has a trait that lets you have a decent-ish REF save versus damaging effects without a high DEX. And the heavy armors that could in theory be affordable at 1st all get you to 5 without DEX.

My main issue with Blightburn Sickness is that it doesn't kill you... which is kinda weird... Like, Radiation poisoning is oftentimes lethal. I had to make it more dangerous in my iron gods game, but it was a good starting point.
@JacksonOwex Жыл бұрын
The hell are you talking about?! That bomb can DEFINITELY kill things, and that's even before I read the parts about the Blightburn sickness or whatever it's called! Blightburn sounds EXACTLY like what radiation poisoning can do to people, slowly and painfully kill you!
@AlastarTehMaster Жыл бұрын
@@JacksonOwex I meant the radiation, it's meant to emulate radiation poisoning which, in moderate to large doses, can be lethal fairly quickly. Even in low doses it's eventually lethal, I think blightburn sickness should have had another stage that is just death. The bomb can definitely kill!

As an alchemical item it can be Adv Alch'd *at level 1* and attached to any 1-attack party member's martial melee weapon *before combat,* turning any grenade into a flat *0-action +7.5dmg per fight.* HUGE BUFF.

I'd say the best way to use the Ursine Avenger Hood would be to give it to a crossbow specialist Orc ranger. Why? That's easy: because then you can have the other players use a charismatic human rogue, a couple of automatons (an investigator and an inventor), a young human Magus trying to prove himself and a brave human female bard to work social events. Sadly, the old Redeemer got aced by his ex-apprentice, a black clad Tyrant. ...yes, I made a Star Wars joke. So sue me. But let's be honest, "Chewer" and his trusty crossbow, "Bowcaster", would win over everyone.
