Matrix and Corolla uses the same engine. It's Camry, Highlander and RAV4 that's using the same engine. The full name of matrix is Toyota Corolla Matrix.

The Matrix makes use of the 2AZ engine which is meant for the Camry, RAV4 and Highlander. Not all versions of the matrix makes use of the 2az engine.

I have replied you with respect with the hope that I was talking to someone that deserves one. I repeat again, The 2009 to 2011 Matrix S makes use of the 2AZ engine. I have not stated at anytime that all versions of the matrix makes use of the 2az engine, I have repeatedly told you that some versions of the Matrix makes use of the 2AZ engine. Do a simple google search for the list of vehicles that makes use of the 2AZ engine. You don't have to do "research". With that said your commenting rights in this place will be reviewed if your next comment does not begin to reflect sanity.

@@Steve_Azuka the 2AZ engine in the 2009-2013 Matrix and Corolla is optional. Base models use the 1ZZ-FE from the previous generation.

@@only_viralclip it depends on the model year and which trim level you pick. The first generation (2003-2008) use the 1ZZ-FE 1.8 4 cylinder engine, the 2nd generation (2009-2013) also uses this engine, but if you go for the S or XRS trim you get the 2AZ-FE 2.4 4 cylinder engine.
