5:14 Just to clear up a common misconception, the Avenger class archetype is not a stand in for the Slayer class. It's the same iconic character, but that's for lore reasons not mechanics. Other than some base Rogue features they share, the archetype has very little to do with the old P1e class, both thematically and mechanically. I do like the Shifter, but I kind of feel there was a reason it was the last P1e class. A nature themed were-martial is a cool idea, but an idea that can only go so far. If it does become a full class, I'd like to see it go beyond just nature themed transformations. Like an angelic or fiendish divine form, or a He-Man/Power Rangers/Sailor Moon magical transformation, or for occult you can go full Ben 10 with a bunch of weird alien stuff. I think that would merit a full class.

Would love an Arcanist Archetype for Wizard, Kensai for a monk, a conjurer archtype for summoner, or an arcane trickster rogue class archetype that makes you a caster with sneak attack. Absolutely agree on the NPC rules. The Gallery is my hype for this year from Paizo. I’m really hoping for a guide on adding class feats to monsters to spice up creation, or more tips on making nocs based upon PC classes. Also would like to see some more mythic statblocks

So you can KINDA do arcanist with spell substitution. Maybe grab which dedication to add some more feats. It’s not the same, but it’s kinda close. Kondai you can likewise do. Monastic weaponry lets you monk with any finesse weapons you have familiarity with, so gain familiarity with the elven curved blade or rapier or whatever and you are good. I think the eldrich trickster (pre remaster) can sneak attack with attack spells. And the standard rules for NPC creation let you add ‘relevant feats and abilities’ to an NPC. So just make an NPC fighter and reflavor it as a monster. Not perfect, but I hope it helps.

I'd honestly love a Shifter for pf2e- one of the things I remember really fondly from 5e was the fact that in my first ever campaign, the Druid would always transform into a Cat like once a session just for fun, and while I understand WHY the pf2e Druid doesn't have capabilities like that, I do sort of miss it and have been sort of yearning to see more classes/options that let you consistently shapeshift. I also think there's just a TON of potential to be had with a pure martial shape changer. Brawler would also be a REALLY nice archetype, but personally I also wouldn't mind it as a class in of itself, as I'd really like to see more classes that are fully focused on unarmed combat.

Id like class archetypes as well, maybe even a "Fused Class" where its archetypes that focus on being accessible by 2 classes and then fusing them by giving them half of what the other offers. Bullet Dancer being reqorked into one of those to fuse Gunslinger and Monk would be one cool idea. I also would love to see more daring ventures. If Shifter doesnt make it as a full class, then id suggest making a Class archetype for Summoner, where the theme is they embody the Eidolon isntead of summoning it, becoming half of that Eidolon and accessing new abilities as a result. Or a Psionic Warrior as as a fighter/Psychic archetype, giving some bound Occult casting and giving a way to put "Amps" onto martial actions as well. Just a lot of cool potential and the odd ideas is what i love most about Paizo

My thoughts: 2:07 I think you forgot about Dawnsbury Days. The maps do make a random generation feasible, similar to some mods for the Shadowrun games from Harebrained Studios. 2:41 My GM just allowed me to use Slings in Gunslinger. A Sling Slinger. But the Exemplar has some reload Epitaph, so I might be a good basis too. 4:13 I think Oozes just have -10 AC, but I can't figure out simple rules for Swarms and Troops. 7:09 A SF2 version of the Evolutionist might do it. But a Monk Archetype similar to the Five Breaths Vanguard could also work.

Yeah, Dawnsbury Days . . . As for exemplar slingers, yeah a few have mentioned them. I'm kinda turned off from exemplars by how easy it is to break the game with them. There are 3 things I want to see most. The first is a viable dragon race (obviously). I know they're already working on it, but I'm still not confident they aren't going to mess it up. What I want isn't an overpowered dragon, but rather a dragon you could customize to your class/party role. For instance, having a breath attack that stacks with your spellcasting abilities would be nice or natural armor you could grow to be as strong as plate armor after enough time or through monetary sacrifices to your ancestors or something. I could imagine each of a dragons attributes as a racial feat you have to take at first level to get the most out of it. The second thing i want to see is an update for magus and thaumaturge. I think magus could use a major rework to make it more beginner friendly, and the thaumaturge is probably fine as is, but it could maybe use some clarification such as how lore skill feats work with exploit vulnerability. Thirdly, I hope any class that isn't in player core 1 or 2 gets updated and added to another class book, as well as more racial and class feats and subclasses like you mention to go with them. I hope everyone gets to see more of what they want in pathfinder in one way or another this year, but these are the things I want the most.

Although the shifter as presented here is pretty cool and can see how a lot of players would want that I personally would also love to see a class where you only have one distinct other form, a bit like Barbarian Rage or werecreature archetype, but with different drawbacks/benefits (and not a rare archetype so you could do it from lvl1), specifically things like having the other form giving you benefits outside of combat (that are different from your base form), and having shifting between forms be an action coming up in combat at least semi-regular. If I would build this myself I would probably base it on something like a cross between a barbarian and a summoner.
@PsiPrimeProductions116 күн бұрын
So . . . you can kinda do that with the warecreature archetype. It gives you a hybrid and full creature form, and would work well with something like an animal barbarian.
@BotchFrivarg16 күн бұрын
@@PsiPrimeProductions1 that would be close but not exactly it, for one the werecreature archetype is rare, another AFAICT it doesn't really allow for strategic use of the difference in form during combat (you just rage and shift to hybrid and try to stay there), and on top of that limited use in exploration mode. It is a very specific fantasy that is hard to explain, but currently there are a lot of options that come very close (meld together from the summoner is the other one I can think of right now) but none really match. And not saying a perfect match is needed (to be honest I would be perfectly happy playing a werecreature archetype animal barb, a summoner, or another close option), but if I could make a whish a reality I would like a class for that specific fantasy.

I'm a huge fan of #5. I don't necessarily want 4 level 17 feats, as that would be adding a lot of feats, but just some rebalancing of ancestries. I know it's thematic, but the number of ancestries with +Dex/Cha and -Con are insane. Also, there are only a few +Str ancestries out there. I know we can use the alternate stat boosts as a core rule instead of a variant now, but I like the core stat mods of the races. I'd like to see a rebalancing of feats, so the Gnome, Halfling, Human, etc don't get all the attention. The Custom Mixed Heritage rule goes a long way to fixing this, but some ancestries just seem to have the short end of the stick in feats, both in number and in efficacy. Another change that might be nice is incorporating some of the 5e rules into the Wizard. Their choice of spells is based of 3.5e, and we've moved past those limitations. This change would be to have them choose a selection of spells memorized instead of filling each spell slot. 5e wizards are broken because of their spells, not their class mechanics.
@Ditidos17 күн бұрын
I really want rules to swap out the type of spellcasting a class has. I want a spontenous wizard and a prepared bard. Hopefully not a class archetype, just an optional rule. That said, I hope the shifter is not about partial transformation if it gets done, I feel like between the animal barbarian, the ranger focus spell and the werecreature archetype that's easy to do. But I really want a class that can easily go as big as possible all the time but also use unarmed attacks, not give them, just be compatible with it. A strength skill class that works with unarmed attacks would also be great, as well as a wisdom-based skill class or a wisdom class that's academic in nature rather than faith based.

I would love an archetype that centers around the skillmonkey concept that isnt just the rogue/investigator multiclass. Also a mobility focused archetype would be great. I hate having to shop around weird archetypes and sign up for random factions or whatnot just to get an extra 10ft of movement. Gimme a 1 stop shop for going fast, climbing, swimming, jumping, and maybe even eventual flying and/or teleporting. Anything that helps cover the more basic gameplay elements, really. I want more stuff like the Archer, Mauler, Healer, and Bastion. Less stuff that is so heavily tied to factions, regions, or otherwise too lore specific to really be viable for most games. More skill feats would be nice too. Some skills are quite starved for feats that make them worthwhile. My top 5 1. More Magus. We have Magus+ content, but I definitely prefer 1st Party content as it's more readily accepted. 2. Persistent Damage Support; Let me make characters who get benefits when they are suffering persistent damage, let me trigger in new ways/aggravate persistent damage without needing to let enemies have full turns before dying. Let me scent blood or burning, let me frighten enemies suffering mental damage, let lightning damage befuddle and cold damage make them clumsy etc. 3. Incarnum (from 3.5e) influenced class designs in a new playtest. Could be arguably more magitech influenced than I'd like in my typical fantasy, but the core concept was that you would have a number of daily "shaped" binds which you could almost freely invest a resource in. It supports learning about the world and the type of adventures you'd be getting into, shaping the appropriate bind for that day, and then switching your investments so you can effectively contribute. I could see this being an appopriate flavour for a Shifter class, honestly without being relegated to Wild Shaped Fighter. 4. Summoner v2. I hate the PF2E Summoner. I hate that it's little more than a Pet Class with extra steps. I miss the actual act of Summoning being relevant to a Summoner. I get that it's bad action econ, but that should be something the class should be able to improve on. Also, I dislike that it takes feats are the only way to customize the summon. 5. i've said enough!
@HenshinFanatic17 күн бұрын
An Incarnum inspired class design could be a decent way to make the Shifter it's own class. What I want though, is something inspired by Tome of Battle: Book of Nine Swords. There were third party products inspired by that design in PF1E, but as yet nothing for PF2E.
@Kokszo17 күн бұрын
Given how they're decoupling magical flavourings now I think we could see Shifter being a wave-casting druid class archetype. As long as they don't go with such asinine choices like with Battle Harbinger (not even the aura font but Reactive Strike as a feature at 9 instead of the doctrine spells????) I think it could work if it got some support for doing stuff in wildform other than striking with a bland statstick. Maybe incorporate some of the Wild Mimic abilities into it (the copy part, not exaclty having to use up even more feats for them) Honestly fighter should only get sidegrades like warrior of legend and on that power-level, who still added feats that are plain out stronger than preexisting version (while it does require a specific weapon groups it also lacks flourish so it combos nice with reach those groups usually have for a lot of combat mobility dancing around enemy reach). The class is already choking others by constraining their power budgets with their "soft" subclasses having to least hoops to jump through to be effective. I could also argue that, already, a pugilist/brawler already exists with unarmed fighter with martial artist archetype. Ninja and Samurai while I wish would be in I don't think paizo wants japanese-centric orientalism otherwise surely we'd get something in TX character guide. Since their focus on CAs supposedly increased I'd wish they'd revisit Synthesist beyond bad meld into eidolon.

Martial flavored class similar to Kineticist. Instead of being 'caster spell' like effects with elements. I want something that does martial like effects with elements. And I mean fully on Martial, not just as a 'you technically can' as it is with Kineticist now. I want something that plays similar to a Fighter or Barbarian or such, but it's elemental/magical effects for the attacks and maneuvers instead of using swords or whatever. Also some kind of eidolon merging class(or subclass for Summoner) where you merge yourself with your thing and that's your entire thing. It existed in pf1e or dnd 3.5 but I've forgotten the name. It was such an awesome concept where you essentially had this awesome battle transformation and form. But you were very vulnerable outside of it.
@PsiPrimeProductions117 күн бұрын
So I think a shifter could be that 'martial kineticist; you wanted. As for Merge with Eidolon, there is a feat for that. I think it's called 'meld with eidolon.' A class archetype centered around that might be cool.
@troll526217 күн бұрын
@@PsiPrimeProductions1 While the shifter would be a similar thing, it'd be more of a 'transform body part then do physical attacks'. I was thinking more in the line of using magic(al) effects. Some (top of the head and not to be taken too literal) examples; Flame Lash: Lets the user do a melee strike against a creature within 15 feet. On a hit it can pull the target towards the user. Blast Kick: Charge magic in a leg then do a melee strike against a creature or object within reach(of unarmed attack). If the target is an object it does bonus damage. Shielding Gust: Reaction taken when an enemy uses a ranged attack against the user that has a physical projectile. Give the user an AC bonus from ranged attacks until the end of the current turn. Stuff like that. Which when I try to explain people will just say 'that's just Kineticist', but to me it really isn't. Kineticist is a funky caster first and foremost. Before we knew more about it for pf2e I thought it'd be like a 'magical martial'. Not a gish(i.e martial with traditional spells), but a class that behaves like a martial with magical effects. And as it sadly wasn't. My want for such a class remains unfulfilled. As for the eidolon merge thing, I know that's a thing, but it's awful in pf2e and really more of a utility thing IF your eidolon has a movement you don't or is tiny so you can 'hitch a ride'. I'm talking 'hop into the "magical mech" and start blasting' kinda thing instead.
