This is not about Pokemon that became better in the subsequent generation, which is important to note. I love how many hidden gems you can find in a format years after the metagame has concluded to the general audience. This was absolutely fabulous to watch, and hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Unfortunately, the answer to why older spin-off 3D Pokémon battle games look more lively than modern 3D Pokémon games is because all of those games were outsourced work. GameFreak allowed other companies to take the workload of making 3D models and moving them, as well as the move animations. So unless GameFreak begins outsourcing that workload again, there is no reason to assume that GameFreak will be able to put together an entire Pokémon mainline game AND have amazing Pokémon animations and move animations at the same time.

Doesn’t scarlet and violet have some great animations? I think so yes it looks blurry and has some frames for me at water but it is one of the best stories, alot of cute things like sleeping Pokémon, bopping music, some great areas, and an amazing Pokédex in my opinion

@@shogunender8752 I'm not saying there can't be individually nice animations. But if you compare the animations of Pokémon and their moves in games like Stadium to Battle Revolution, then compare them to modern 3D games, it is clear which games pushes the Pokémon to do the move and which games do the bare minimum and standardization to save time. Hence my point on "unless GameFreak begins outsourcing the workload again." If they just let another studio take that workload while they make the rest of the game, we can have BOTH good battle animations and a lively overworld.

I mean, BDSP is outsourced work too, and look at how it turned out. The problem is clearly bigger than just "GF needs to outsource more".

Kip: "Breloom, my beloved" Me: "Right with ya there, mate." But yeah, Breloom was one of my favorite RSE Pokémon, despite Spore being an absolute pain to get. Definitely glad to finally get some love in its debut generation. Golem is another classic favorite, although for me his peak was Gen4, after getting Rock Polish. Had a Jolly-natured one back in Platinum that finished the whole game on my team (similar to my shiny Shellder in Sword); mate was an absolute beast once he got set up (and really, in-game you only needed a single buff to outspeed most opponents). Also pretty sure they used the XD final boss theme because Moltres was one of the Shadow Pokémon on his team. And yes, the music in that game really does go HARD. 😂

My favorite trashy mons are: Jolteon, Stantler, Mightyena, Floatzel, Druddigon, Delphox, Passimion, Thievul, and Grafaiai. Got one for each generation.

Favorite not good Pokémon is either shiny Camerupt, Gliscor, or Seviper my first because of the anime as a kid in ruby.
