On the topic of patents, they last 20 years. You can make a Nintendo NES clone legally because the patent on it ran out long ago. A current wrinkle is that firmware is copyright protected so that lasts functionally forever. (author's life plus 70 years) you can make games with similar mechanics after patents run out. I'd argue that gameplay elements should not be patentable for the same reason they can't be covered by copyright, both stifle the market in significant and predictably catastrophic ways. Look up patent trolling to se how bad it can hinder innovation across any industry.

Melding the different realities together can look very good, just look at Gordon Ramsay in Minecraft. This trailer however makes it look like there's some sort of story, and I don't see how the childish humor could give room for characters to develop

So yeah, the funny thing is that his document came out of nowhere only making things worse for vshojo... I suspect that it was more an attention bomb than anything else since Froot was, at best becoming a niche figure in vshojo itself and at worse fading away into irrelevancy like hime. At the end this was all unnecessary, and it just becomes another black mark for vshojo regardless if Froot is being truthful for once or not and I personally don't thing she's being so but it's fine if you disagree. I was fine by acting like she didn't exist and let her remain on her lane so this blowing up is beyond meh.
