Welcome to South FL! I’ve been here 5 years now I moved from CT. If in about a year or so if you get homesick I suggest you go up to Boston for two weeks to visit and you’ll quickly realize why you left 😉 I love the northeast but I don’t see myself ever moving back

I love what you said about the ability to introduce yourself the way you see yourself and who are you becoming. When you live in a smallish city your whole life people only see you as you former self even if they haven’t seen you in years !! You can change ur whole life but people will still view you as the person they used to know

People will always see you as the person they once knew until you prove yourself and them otherwise !

Great video. Love the honesty. It sounds like Brickell would be a more multicultural area for you, and have everything within walking distance. More expensive though. Keep pushing on KZbin. You will get there!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I do love visiting Brickell, though it can definitely be pricey! 😄

Miami has pockets of ethnicity. Some areas are multicultural, but some are kind of a closed community featuring only one ethnicity.

How much does it cost to live in Miami? My son is 22 years old recently graduated from University of Virginia with a degree in Computer Science with a 150K/year job working fully remote. Will that be enough to live in Miami?

Congratulations on your son’s success ! It depends if he intends to live alone or not, I would say rent it the biggest factor however, I do believe it’s very much possible for him.

I've been in Miami since I was in Middle school. 150k is enough to live. But Miami housing is overpriced so he will get less bang for his buck. We have an home insurance crisis so if he buys that'll be an issue. Our insurance structure is about to collapse in Florida due to the hurricanes. Miami is great but vast majority of people are miserable and are looking for an exit. Dating in Miami is bad because people are working to survive and people are dating to survive not for love in this city. People hop from whichever person is making the best money. Rent is still some of the worst in the country. Good thing he already has a job because wages in Miami are low comparatively to other metro areas. Healthcare is decent and there are a lot of good schools. Due to the rapid influx of people neighborhoods are changing rapidly. Also, Miami is not a friendly city, I'm originally from the Deep South so I'm polite and say Hello to people that is not the norm. Lastly, parts of Miami are becoming like LA where people come "to make it" and are just really superficial and annoying. All in all, I love my city but I will.have to leave. Your son has the money to be here and he may find it's worth it. Many natives don't see it that way. Like 30% of my high school has left Miami mainly for Georgia and Alabama for cheaper cost of living.
