Thanks man, I appreciate it. I feel as if in the past 4 years I've gained so much knowledge and confidence pruning and shaping my bonsai/material now which makes it so much more enjoyable. You definitely learn more when you fail/make mistakes.

Most of this advice applies to life! 1. Begin with a vision in mind 2. Be Drastic, study the tree until you understand the for, and clip off what you don’t like 3. be patient, it’s gonna luck ugly at times in the beginning, but your happy becaue you have the vision of what it will grow into 4. When in doubt, cut off less, not more. 5. Don’t worry about making a mistake. Even if you cut off too much, it will grow back and give you more options to design it.

Do you happen to have any mame and shohin bonsai? If so, I think it would be cool to see a walkthrough video on all your smaller trees :D
@MiltonChang-ee6rq6 ай бұрын
Coming up! No mame. (tiny bonsai) ..have to soak in a pan to keep them alive (not drying out)

Are rhododendrons used for bonsai? I can't find chinese elm tree the nursery told me they are not popular trees because they sucker and spread
@MiltonChang-ee6rq6 ай бұрын
This is actually a popular landscaping tree because it is used to replace the American stately elm because of the Dutch elm disease. Try another nursery...a place like Home depot. BH will offer elm bonsai ready for shipping by Thanksgiving. A perfect gift!
