Just bought myself a 2007 CBR600RR last sunday! Thanks CycleCruza for being my inspiration. But I gotta say after riding and racing dirt bikes for 21 years the CBR feels like a down grade in torque/power to weight ratio. The acceleration is beyond good in the CBR don't get me wrong. But I'm just having a hard time getting that adrenaline rush with it. Whereas with my YZ450 I literally have to be sitting on the gas tank half the time when I give it full throttle.

Yeah more torque down low on the yz450 but the cbr600rr will eat it for breakfast on mid-range and top end. You would probably appreciate the cbr1000rr's 80 ft-lb of torque more, but the bottom end rip of a big bore dirt bike is probably more fun. I want to add a 450 or a 2 stroke dirt bike to the garage, just having a hard time choosing. I want to see how that 2018 FI 2 stroke KTM 250 is going to be. If it's awesome, I may just have to get a KTM.

FZ 07, screw the 690, it's overrated and overpriced for what it is.

If you want the ultimate back road bike go for the 690. Much better suspension and brake components. Very reliable engine. (LC4-engine has been there for over 20 years so there is no problems with it.) If you are not gonna ride twisty roads or want to save couple pennies go for the 07. Maintenance costs are pretty equal with those two bikes.
