Also where that black standardbred is, is one of only a few locations where wild hungarian halfbreds can spawn, which is the hardest to find for horseman 10 as Arthur. So far I've seen that horse there, south of the strawberry stable, and north of emerald station, but the spawns are few and far between.

When I first played this game, I stole a Missouri Fox Trotter from a stable in Saint Denise while running from the police. I was amazed at how fast it was and how well it handled and didn't spook easy. Turned out it was one of the best horses in the game and was never meant to be available so early in the game. Months later the developers did an update and removed the horse from the stables permanently and could only be found or bought in late game or post credit game only. I loved that horse.

You can get it during the 3rd Albert Mason mission. There's videos on it. Steal a 4 horse carriage and park it behind Mason. Slows them down enough for you to catch up with the MFT if you skip the cutscene. Jump from your horse to the MFT cause I don't think you can lasso her. Once tamed, go directly to the stables, stable or saddle her and save. I think if you get off you can't get back on.

There is also a strat to get it without chasing it during mason's quest. Early in chapter 2 there is a lady with a dead horse needing help. If you snipe her from a distance, they respawn but she's walking and horse is alive ready to be tamed. It's north of carmody dell. Can post up to snipe by train tracks

Same. I had no idea it existed and was running around up there one night and nearly ran over her. Chased her for a while, then she swam across the lake and I hopped on her back from my mount. It was deadly cause she couldn't buck me off and just kept swimming in circles. Easiest break ever.

I recently found another, and better looking Andalusian in Roanoke. The horse is pure white and almost ethereal and found her in the trees where the river is on your left, coming from Beaver Hollow and not too far from where the wolf man is, kind of halfway between there and the waterfall where the Perlino Andalusian is shown here. I called my horse Spirit, but unfortunately I lost her after getting the free Missouri Fox Trotter and had too many horses because I'm sure I can only own 5 horses at once, 3 in the stables and 2 at Beechers 🙄👍

You can have 4 horses in your stable and a secondary horse to follow you like a pack horse…you can select any of your horses from the stable at Beechers hope at the hitching post my friend (whatever is stabled) any secondary horse you have (aka pack horse) will have to remain hitched though wherever you plan on getting it from

The best horse I ever played with was the Thoroughbred that the lady in Rhodes races you with. I stole the horse after beating her and couldn’t believe the stats and temperament. NEVER throws me off the horse and the stats are insane. With the panther saddle, almost max speed and and very high acceleration. Big, too. I get horse envy riding with the gang and all their huge horses.

Got that horse as well in chapter 2. The brindle thoroughbred. Amazing stats and bravery but low hp and stamina even when fully bonded. Shifted to the turkoman once i got it in chapter 3.

You know what one of the best horses in the game is? The Appaloosa you can get during the Tilly mission. Fast, incredible stamina, healthy, level headed. I love that horse and it's a rare coat colour too 😁😁

Found the all black standardbred, made it my temporary horse..but since my dlc horse was my temporary horse before and I didn’t stable it..the standardbred and the dlc thoroughbred fused or something like that and it went missing lol Couldn’t buy my dlc horse again at the stable and had to kill the standardbred for it to appear in the stable 😅

I found a horse similar to the stats of the Arabian (8 max speed) (6 max accel) in a Stable for a reasonable 200-ish dollars. It's handling was not elite as far as I remember. I dont remember the breed. I almost bought it but my horse is 7max 5max which isn't too different and I'm only in Chapter 2.

You could get a better American Standarberd close to where you start the game. A guy is cleaning his horse foot and he gets kicked on the head and dies. His horse is left for you to get. It's a good horse to start with. It's not black so if you want black one then do the one in the video.

For me it was easier just walking up to them, rope drains stamina and if you don’t get them in time, they run for it….for your second question, so far haven’t been attacked….yet

To save yourself an hour or more of trying to tame it and being bucked, just shoot it with a pistol in the chest until it dies, revive it, watch out for its kicks (2 are fatal) then easily ride it out with its weakened stamina. Also, put the left joystick in the 5 o'clock position and leave it there-- then focus on using the right joystick to counter the left-to-right turn-bucking of the horse. It literally takes 3 minutes to get an Arabian with this method. Bonus tip I should be charging for: Take the horse to an open, safe area without any predators, Odriscols or cliffs and "lead the horse" on autopilot, i.e, duct tape your left joystick forward to make yourself walk with the horse to reach level 4 bond level in around 20-25 minutes of literally doing nothing. (I'm literally typing this as I'm "bonding" with my newly acquired white arabian that I ran up on and shot 3 times). Emerald Ranch area is a good, open, safe area to auto-pilot bond. Just pay off your bounties beforehand.

I was playing RDR2 for the first time, I think I was in early Chapter 3, I wanted to hunt these Legendary Animals but I couldn't understand a single thing about that map. I think I was on a hunting trip near New Hanover. My cousin saw me playing and wanted to try the game as well, since he played RDR1 originally. Saw the Grizzlies and asked me if he could go to the snowy montains and where. I did not travel there for a while then, but I knew the way, so I showed him. After getting to Lake Isabella, he started playing and riding the horse in the Ice, a thing I wasn't sure about. Then the "You have entered Legendary Animal territory..." text appeared. Obviusly he tracked and killed that animal, the White Bison. And effectively skinned it, after lassoing it from the Lake. After some playing, or probably before, I think he killed the horse. Even though it wasn't a good horse, I protested and reloaded my last save. Some time after, I decided to go for the White Bison. Somehow I returned from a hunting trip with a secondary horse. I think I saw that specific advice of More than one horse directly from the game. I decided to go and hunt this Bison and probably more along with this aditional horse. Having just entered the completely white landscape of the Grizzlies West, I encountered my first, and last at the time of the comment, Moose. Of course I make sure to have it 100% completed in the compendium. Previously I had a Gray Wolf in the horse cargo, and another animal I think, so I replaced it with the Moose skin/hide. My secondary horse had all the other "small" skins, something I would regret after. I got to Lake Isabella. I was rounding the Lake as a fool repeating every single step my cousin took. (After this my memory isn't that clear) Then I saw it. The White Arabian. I was amazed at that beauty of a horse. Even more amazed I was when I looked at the stats after, like a completely maxed out horse for me at the time. Probably this was when my cousin was playing. It ran away, sadly. But of course, I saw it again. This time a wolf managed to interrupt me long enough for the horse to escape. But this time I had a trail. I went, and I can proudly say that the White Arabian was my first broken horse ever and I did it at first try. I was riding it very slowly until I got to my Main Horse with the Moose skin. I treated it like a delicate glass even after bonding 1. Sadly, my temporary horse disappeared with most of the skins. Then the cause of my unclear memory. With my new White Arabian, I hunted down the White Bison. But I couldn't bring it to land in time, and sunk in a Lake. I thought it was all lost. So I decided to load my last save. Now this is confusing. Either I saw the White Arabian 3 times, first with my cousin, second before the Bison, and in the third I broke it again very easily (unlikely since I saved the game after the White Arabian). Or broke the White Arabian after the White Bison. Or I lost the White Arabian with the load of the save and make me save the game frecuently ever since. Either way, I happily left the Grizzlies with a new elegant horse and the pelt of the White Bison. Even though I lost it by dying and not knowing there was a trapper. It has been my main Horse until that Tilly mission, I always made sure of saving the game frecuently, especially after THAT GODDAMN, FUCKING LEMOYNE RAIDER'S MACHINEGUN AMBUSH OUTSIDE OF SAINT DENIS. Though I was, somewhat dissapointed when my cousin saw it unsurprised and said there were better horses. Since that moment I ruined my game experience by spoiling the end by accident, curious about the horses. Thats why I never brought it in the final mission, and now I regret not bringing it there especifically. And know I know it respawns, so I'll go and get it for the Epilogue nicely paired with the Black Arabian

Sounds like an Andalusian or Turkoman would be great for you. Or any of the war horses, really. They're not always the fastest, but the health bar usually makes up for it. I also personally like to use the occasional draft horse like the Shire, those things are tanks

I'd like the animal to stand still so I can get a shot, and not bolt and tip me ass over tea kettle until the wolves, cat or bear actually attack! 🤬🤣😩🤷‍♂️ I admit I haven't explored the Shire as much. It's only taking me a little better than four years, I guess I'll try that next lol.

@@HM2SGT Y'know, there's a lot of evidence to suggest that horse personalities can vary regardless of the breed. I've had an Andalusian bucking me off at the first sight of a gator, but also a Nokota who could hold her own around wolf packs. I think it's worth to test out the same breed at least two or three times, and see if there's a difference!

The black American standard breed is the clumsiest horse in the game. I think pretty much all the racehorses trip up on about anything now the Appaloosa is probably the best workhorse in the game. They don’t spook easy I’m not been thrown by one of them over anything yes, send no accidents as far as trip ups on your run through the desert and it jumps everything I don’t even have to use the jump button

In those 5, my favorite is the andalusian. Even if not very fast, this horse have nerves of steel. The american standardbreed is tall, fast and beautiful, but such a coward. Couguars or grizzly and he'll let you here to die. The arabians are fast and manoeuvrable but too small. Else, i love turkomans, but i always keep the andalusian.

They will appear from chapter 2

They will. Just be patient. If they haven't spawned, just play the game. Make a save and quit. They'll be there. There are a lot of great horses to ride, not just these ones.

Can you find these in red dead online? And do you have to be a certain rank for them to spawn?

@GalacticCat in two I think they spawn in the same areas as story mode and they spawn no matter the rank
