I completely agree about the retention/productivity/work load levels with year round homeschooling! I also Love the idea of semesters and taking the month of Dec. off(we also take the month of June off because it is my daughters birthday and one of my husbands slower times of the year, business wise); maybe we will try to incorporate those this year. Thanks for sharing your homeschooling journey! Chelsea from TX :)

That is perfect - aligning it with your husband's slower season. :) Thanks for watching, and enjoy your break!

Schools in Scotland take 6/7 weeks in summer, 2 in Easter, 2 in October and 2 at Christmas plus some extra days like may day holiday and bank holidays making long weekends. So we have shorter summers anyway. England is similar but their summer dates are different and they have just one week off in October. America seems to have a much longer summer holiday. I like this idea of having even more freedom to take days off that suit you and when you need them and to do school work otherwise. :) 👍🥰

Thank you for sharing! We are early in our homeschooling journey. Slow and steady! Love the flexibility doing it this way!

We school year round also. I do like being able to take time off without worrying about getting enough days in.
