Well starting your career at McLaren in the top car of the grid is not a very hard task to make results. I don't see it very great statistically when your only rival is your team mate and other cars don't even have a chance to challenge the Mercs. Not very hard to get championships if you ask me.

Well Bernie and FOM are definitely to blame for us die hard fans not having ANY access to old GP's. I have no doubt they would be able to successfully run a PPV or streaming service for races of old. I mean honestly, we are reserved to either break federal law by illegally downloading them or we have to watch them on youtube in a tiny viewer and pray FOM doesnt find them.

+Motorsport101 Just doesnt make sense to me. They have every second of that footage collecting dust somewhere. It couldnt cost a whole lot to set up a server to handle the kind of load they would see, hell the probably have all the hardware in their current server rooms storage closet. I didnt have the ability to watch f1 races from the days of senna, prost, mansell, etc due to being a damn baby.

I'm not entirely sure that the F1 is the 'pinnacle of technology' anymore. That would probably go to LM P1 cars, of which beat mid-end F1 cars even with fuel regulations.

Just because they're fast around the circuit doesn't make them more advanced, the 2016 cars aren't even touching the records of the 2004 cars on track. LM P1 is far more technological than F1, more efficient, and more durable. If they weren't, then they would be failing at their job. I don't think F1 ever claimed itself to be the pinnacle of technology. Of motorsport, yes. But not Technology. Especially when you consider that they JUST started doing hybrids. Which Audi already did almost a decade ago.

Looking back at F1 up until the late '80s because you never knew who would win the race... Monaco '82 for example. I miss that, but on the other hand I don't miss the accidents that took away Villeneuve, Pironi, De Angelis and others.

what I am tired of hearing is the negativity about Verstappen's driving. He is young, brazen and has guts. He's pulling off moves that most don't dare to think of. Sure, some moves are on the edge, but never over the edge. People are just upset that he is making the veterans look like rookies.

How many more drivers does Lewis needs to outperform in his career to be consider just "good". At risk of being consider a "fanboy" i must say the desire of most people of seeing an actual race for the world title often blinds them from things suchs a sight and common sense. Just by looking at his stats you have to give him credit. And don't take my word, ask Alonso who was his teammate and in my opinion the most complete driver on the grid. Hamilton is the new Vettel just like Vettel was the new Schumacher. People love to hate on the winning driver.

Love your channel, great videos, we may not agree on everything but i appreciate your point of view. Like you, I'm tired of the constant rose tinted glasses of "f1 purist"; saying how much better it was back then. F1 is suppose to be the pinnacle of motorsport and technology. People cried about the introduction of v10 and v8 and v6s. They cried about automatic box and powersteering. I think f1 fans just need something to complain about. As for lewis, the man is media gold. Like him or not, whenever his name is mentioned there is always a huge debate. The only thing that irks me are people's constant attempt to defame him. Kimi has sworn to his race engineer, seb has a potty mouth, nando has anger problems, nico whines and complains,. All f1 drivers are the same, giant egotistical bastards to quote Lauda.

This happened a few years back, Pirelli were told to make their tyres wear faster as cars were only having to do one stop. So Pirelli were told to make weaker tyres and when they did, they had many lawsuits because of the tyres being blown and not lasting long enough

Old school f1 drivers were always playboys - so why should Lewis having a life outside of F1 be a talking point? It's old news. Pireli did have some problems when tyres kept delaminating but I think they had there backs against the wall with not being able to test them and the unrealistic demands made. The Bernie debacle... no smoke withou fire they say. He's been at the brunt of so many wrongs over the years. It's time for him to step out.
