Selena has a different and a rare kind of voice (among western singers)... She doesn't need to be loud to express... Her voice is textured and you can listen every single emotion, it's not plain and loud... Don't know, why do most people in US and UK think loud means everything... It's not like here in India, most of the best singers here have a textured voice (not necessarily always loud) and have a kind of natural sweetness, clarity (you can literally listen every single word they sing), romance and expression in their voice, most of the Ghazal and romantic singers and folk song singers here don't sing loud but with emotion and sur and technique... They can sing in multiple languages (some can more than 10 or 12 ) with equal grace like they sing in their first or second language... Loud voice is not necessarily considered good here... It's not even a major criteria... I don't understand, why mostly loud voice is considered good in Western countries, particularly US, UK... at least it seems from the most of people's comments, reviews, reactions and technical experts on You Tube. I have even noticed such kind of preference (loudness) even in reality shows there...
