Clocking 180 is useless, once at ride height ; clock your springs the best you can to have the divider as Straight as possible with an even gap all round the body. Then depending the aftermarket spring setup you have, good luck with keeping them properly clocked. Install protective sleeves such as suspension armor, and be done, Great video ! A lot of social media know it alls out there , that in the end , don’t know crap. It’s all opinionated comments from everyone, unless you know facts. “ Zip it” I say lol Good vid

Check out Schmidty racing suspension. They talk a lot about most spring kits and what sets theirs apart from others. The cross over rings shouldn’t be a wearable item. I haven’t seen any reviews of the Schmidty kit that has been negative or talked about wearing the crossovers. I’m not affiliated with them either lol I just do a lot of research and they seem to be one of the top companies as far as positive reviews! Awesome video by the way. That suspension armor looks legit! My only concern is you couldn’t thread crossovers on after you put it on but some crossovers just bolt on. Just depends on the kit!
@d3offroad
@d3offroad 4 ай бұрын
Yes for sure I know Schmidty and have ordered parts from there before! They use quality springs like eibach and hypercoil I’m sure not some cheap re branded stuff! I also have not seen any negative reviews about them Some companies choose quality and mass marketing over quality… And as for the armor yes I agree you can no longer tune the cross over if you want it to contact sooner and to remove them you have to cut them off. I don’t think I would ever install this product on my own shocks for a few reasons but it was supplied and we were asked to glue them on! I think if people put on quality stuff and have it setup good from the get go and wash their machines good they will get a long life out of their shock components before needing replaced and those who didn’t do that might want to use a product like the armor to get more life out of their stuff!

Thank you!! Some of our customers do allow 1/2" between our Suspension Armor Stainless Steel Shock Body Sleeves and the crossover rings for possible future adjustment. 1/2" is alot for crossover adjustment. We have had zero issues with damaging Shock bodies after installing our Stainless Steel Sleeve. 😊😊😊

Great Video's. I have a question about the krx oil level. I have about 2k km's on my 2023 krx and over time I have noticed wild swings in oil level as seen through the little glass viewing hole. Some days its spot on between the marks and other days oil isn't even seen in the glass, then next day its over the top line. I know temperature plays a role in this but the swings are huge. Do you guys find the same? I always check it on flat ground.
@d3offroad
@d3offroad 4 ай бұрын
Hmmm are you checking it only when motor is cooled off and sitting for a while on flat ground? We have not noticed that but we only check it before we ride after it’s been sitting for a while and it’s always in the same spot!

You made the point of showing the problems with the shock body. Your a shock service shop and you didn’t make notice that the plastic slider was installed upside down? My pro Xp had bad body wear. I bought the glue on protectors for the rear which were a lights out solution and make the shocks quieter as they don’t click on the crossover ring. I got threaded eon protectors from Peak Velocity to protect the front bodies

This machine has the shock therapy kit with its sliders and that is the correct orientation for that setup. If you flipped them over and had the long side down with their length of tender spring you would never contact the cross over and have issues with coil bind. Do you have a website link for the protectors you are talking about? Would love to check them out!

Steve is correct because Shock Therapy does the same thing with their Kawasaki KRX spring kits with having to flip the rear sliders upside down. The Shock Therapy springs did the same thing on my Kawasaki KRX with them bowing and excessive shock body wear. From personal experience I would stay away from Shock Therapy as I have used them on three different SXS and was very disappointed in the ride quality on each of them until I came across D3 Off-road and Schmidty Suspension springs. Night and day difference in both service, product quality and ride quality.

I stand corrected. That thin wall would flex and crunch when it hits the crossover??? Especially over time. ST has made a poor selection of up spring length it seems. That’s crazy.. my Eibach kits always have those sliders short wall to crossover You can find the protectors at suspension Armor. Gluing them on sounds crazy…. But it works and they don’t move or fall off. It’s basically a strip of stainless that buddy rolls to just over the body dia. It fits between the slider and shock body. No crossover clicking
@d3offroad
@d3offroad 4 ай бұрын
No the wall doesn’t flex and crunch unless maybe if it was worn paper thin, they don’t get smashed like being hit with a hammer the tender spring is pushing down and the valving is slowing them down as they content the cross over ring this is normal across many shock platforms and we do know what we are doing here when it comes to setting them up. Keep asking questions and watching videos and learning none of us will ever know everything! Happy riding 🍻

Not sure what your end game is here, slam Shock Therapy or not. Your video is not very informative or helpful at all. Those springs are hard to clock and it takes allot of time, rotating the top spring one inch at a time untill you get it the best you can. Shock Therapy is working on stainless shock sleeves for aluminum shock body shocks, and they will be released sometime summer 2024.
@d3offroad
@d3offroad 4 ай бұрын
The goal isn’t to slam them at all, as mentioned this wear can happen with stock spring as well and these are common wear items. Just to give some information for what to look for and address common things we’ve seen, just so happens most machines that have these issues with have had the Shock Therapy set up. Some people might be new to a machine with this kind of suspension and have no idea what to look for and find this video helpful, sorry you didn’t. Can’t wait to see what shock therapy comes up with for body protection! Would be great to see more options in the market.
