Glad I found your channel and shop, made the process of testing and selecting a new switch to go with for my Halo65 much easier in this saturated and overwhelming switch market! When I first got into keyboards, Cherry was pretty much the only switch out there besides a few clones, I've been typing on MX Clears for over 7 years now so trying out some of the newer stuff that's come out more recently has been a fun experience. Just bought Gateron Quinns from your shop after trying and comparing a half dozen other tactile switches. Their tactility, sound, and feel are just fantastic for me, perfect for a heavy typist who uses a keyboard all day to code, and then game after work. U4Ts came in close second. Tried some heavier Aliaz tactile silents too and just came away feeling that the lack of clacky/thocky sound was taking away a large part of the satisfaction of typing on a mech keyboard for me, but I'm sure they're perfect for an office environment.

I'm a hypertactile enjoyer. Zycos,pelaides, polia's, kiwis, t1s, zaku II, Corsas, meteor purple, monochrome onyx, etc etc. The TTC bluish whites with the muted bottom out are some of my favorite switches! These things are so nice to type on and are very well made! The tactility is very high for such a light switch and it feels much bigger than it is without fatiguing you while typing. If anyone is still on the fence I highly recommend using milk tooth 10 switch try at home program. I got to try all the tactile bobas and all of the new tactiles from Gateron. I ended up really liking the philanopsis by ktt I think, and novel keys creams at 70 g bottom out. I was very disappointed with the tactility of all boba switches. None of them feel more tactile than a t1 to me especially if you actually have them side by side! TTC watermelon milkshakes were basically c³ dragon fruit switches for a third of the price and none of the horrible crunch rattle and ping. Those TTC bluish White switches are just as good as the silent boba except they feel infinitely better in every way! Thanks for what you do it really helps and I highly recommend your service because I've spent hundreds of dollars on switches that I don't like all to find the ones I do😂

Thanks for your insights and comparisons. To sum it up for myself: You feel that the TTC bluish whites are more tactile than the Gazzew U4? Right now I'm trying the banana switches and while they're niceer than any brownish "tactile", I search for more tactility.

Hey @milktoothnu big fan of your videos and bigger fan of your store. You have a large pool of knowledge and experience that pairs well with the style of your videos. The cuts you had in this video that were more cropped in with a lot of kinetic activity, like rifling through the switches. Really liked the way they changed up the pace, compared to what you normally see in a keeb video (reminds me of ants working in a colony or like a beehive). Super refreshing and cool to see the switch up. Layer these elements over your established tone and style and you get this super engaging visual documentary piece about a keyboard switch. Love it man.

Your vids are awesome and my go-to when choosing switches. I'd advise using a highpass filter on your audio files though at 70 or 80Hz or better Mic-isolation from your desk. With bass intense headphones in a crouded setting, most of what you're hearing is intense booming when you crank up the volume.

Dived deep into silent tactiles and tested many of them. My top 2 options are TTC Silent Bluish White and Outemu Silent Cream Jade (V3 version of Cream Yellow). But i want a lighter bottom out, so I swapped springs to 40g for every option. In my opinion TTC has good long 2-stage spring, but too heavy in bottomout for me, and Outemu Jade has very strange short spring (it is too heavy and lacks snappy bottom out).

I’m using the Lichicx Raws light tactile. They’re a little louder than others, but not as much as the Silent Bluish Whites. I like them a lot. Moved from the Boba U4 out of boredom.

Limes are really cool switches, but I noticed that tactile bump is closer to 1mm similar to TTC Silent Brown V2. I prefer the bump to be closer to top, at 0.5-0.7 mm, like on TTC Silent Bluish White or Outemu Cream Yellow/Jade. So, maybe you’ll like Cream Yellow/Jade more too 😊 Worth trying)

as a newbie, i wished i knew about the 2 plastic things sticking out on the bottom of most switches before i got my akko. now sure if it's worth cutting them. My cheap keyboard default switches don't have those plastic parts and the keyboard don't have 2 holes on the pcb below to accommodate

@@kinglanky2424the tactile bump is enough resistance for me at least. It’s a tiny short tactile bump that hits about 50 grams. Unless you’re very heavy handed, probably not an issue

the haimu whispers have the same silencing mechanism as the ws silent tactiles. in my experience it works well on the downstroke but not the upstroke. its ok on 1u keys but on bigger ones the noise is annoying.
@jumplify

Yeah that’s why I don’t use them. Plus they have a boatload of leaf ping. It’s not silent on the top out because it’s plastic on plastic colliding really fast when you release the key versus pressing on it. If you manually lube the top housing/top rails it sounds quieter but still aren’t quiet enough to me compared to traditional silents,
@zegonix
@zegonix 3 ай бұрын
@@jumplify yes i completely forgot to mention the leaf ping. though to be honest the boba u4, my favourite silent switch so far, has a lot of leaf ping too, at least on some units.

Silent tactiles and you open with something that sounds louder than my holy bobas? 👅 I do lean towards silents but atm i have it all silent short of the sound from my stems hitting the top of the switch housings (topping out?? lol) It definitely has a fun little distinction to it that feels kinda fresh too. Also using a few of the u4 stems as well for my rhythm game keys to reduce the clacky 2 finger spam sound in Osu! and other rhythm games. May opt for over lubing the silent stems to make them feel like linears. Im also shopping around for a fun but quiet if not silent linear already too.
