I now understand the editing! It's not in chronological order. Every time someone is talking about a keyboard, they're talking about the one on screen. But there's no way to know what they're comparing against, so having on screen names for these switches would've been a lot of effort, but really appreciated. Most importantly, if the name is revealed, it means that the participants have done all comparisons and that was their final keyboard. I understand this was an editing nightmare and a challenge to present, but I still think having the names of all keyboard on screen ( so above the left or right one), sure would've been more effort but would be a million times better. Still, not understanding comparisons aside, after figuring this out it makes a lot more sense! good vid :D

@Vinicius It's not a ridiculous budget. Don't know why you were banned. Probably just a mod having a bad day, or it was something else you did. You can appeal the ban if what you say is true, and you will likely be unbanned. People at r/mk know a lot about keyboards. You just wanna ask the right people. Asking a question like: "what's the best switch" will bring in trolls. And there is no such thing as a best switch either. Ask more specific questions, or narrow it down to two switches (tangerines vs alpacas for example) and then people will give you different aspects of each switch and tell you which one they prefer.

If LTT ever makes an update on this, please see this: 1. Please please do a better format and table when comparing. As you can see in the comments, people do not know which keyboard you are referring to. The numbers and all that is so confusing. 2. instead of them just spamming randomly on the keyboard, make them do a typing test and test out the spacebar, enter, esc keys esc like most youtubers do. Trust me it is ALOT more better that way 3. Collab with someone like Taeha or any other well known peeps in this hobby so that you can get better information on certain keys and some fun facts and such. I understand that this is a blind test but it seems that too many people do not even know what is what here. Bottom of line of this point is to find a balance of knowledge here. 4. Please have someone to double check your timeline in the video when its done. To my knowledge, it has been Intro, Tactile, Linear and Most Replayed for the longest time when someone in your team could have easily added the Clicky category in.

Dont forget that they randomized the order people tested boards in to reduce order bias So for the "MX Brown" section of the video they would have cut things out of order because browns might be James' first board, Riley's third board, etc etc I'm not sure what a better way to cut the video would have been, given that aspect of the testing. I do wish they had explicitly said "these clips were rearranged to be grouped by board" or something similar

I think they mean you need to push all the way down in the sense that there is no feedback (in the strictest definition of linear). So until you get really familiar with the switch, you’re typically going to bottom it out because the switch isn’t telling you when you’ve hit the actuation point.
@thanhlengoc38054 жыл бұрын

If you’re confused watching this: Every keyboard received a number, but they are being tested randomly across the participants. That means the participants didn’t compare the same pair of keyboards. In other words, they compared the keyboards on a different order. That’s why they show the footage of people testing a specific keyboard - and not a pair. How come some people get to find out what keyboard they were testing then? It’s because that keyboard is the one they preferred and actually ended up with. Because of the random testing, one could try out the first numbered keyboard last and end up with it. This may give off the wrong impression that they found out after testing their first keyboard.

@@kaldogorath 1st off, the testing kits are almost always from 1 brand switches, never mixed. and 2nd: they are only 1 switch each. never a full keyboard like in this video. (which i would also need to be able to compare. can't compare 1 switch because that doesn't feel like actual typing)
Wait, just under half of all the switches listed as being in contention never get shown in the video; 4 tactile, 4 linear, and 1 clicky. Some of them never get picked (Kailh Speed Silvers, the BOX Royals, BOX Navy and more) and I already think those should still be in the videos so that customers can see why the testers passed them up. Then you have something like the Holy Pandas (often regarded as one of the best tactile switches, alongside Zealios V2s) which the roundup at the end shows were even the favorite for as many people as the Zealios v2s, but they still never appeared in the video. Would it really be so hard to do an extended cut of this? Show all the feedback from each person for each switch, move the infographics up top where there's more blank space so they're not blocking the view of the keyboards (and add a second graphic on the right showing the board they're being compared with) Slap a shitload of midroll ads on there for that $payday$ and watch your video become one of the first pitstops people direct others to when they ask about what switches they should get.

The people comparing this to the verge though seems a bit of a stretch to me. One, you are comparing a test that is primarily based on subjective preference to an objectively wrong tutorial. I noticed that too. They list some, but don't seem to actually test them. Not only are they not shown being tested, but aren't even in this list of ones that were picked. Yep, I have no idea how they were choosing. Why do they have 2 keyboards? They're comparing with another one of the same category? Why does the guy sometimes tell them "This is your keyboard"? How did they decide which 2 keyboards to compare? Is it like an elimination round? If so, you can't really tell how the first eliminated compares with the last chosen no? I don't get iiiiiiit
@DanielFoerster4 жыл бұрын
@@notvanymore It was explained and it did make sense to me at least. Basically they did a gauntlet for each category, where each person was given each tactile keyboard in a random order and forced to discard one until only one remained. This was then repeated for linear and clicky categories, and the footage was cut together so that we could see what the people said about each one they tried and then what they said after getting to the end and finding out what keyboard they had selected. The second keyboard on the desk is what they're comparing against, and we see each keyboard at least twice, but the just one with its name on the screen is actually having comments aired at any given moment.

It would be great if everyone after having your choice of every category, make a final selection of the 3.
@WARnTEA4 жыл бұрын
Daniel Broca agreed. Can’t help but think that in regards to browns, that they essentially chose the lesser of two evils. The keyswitch landscape is actually pretty weird right now too. The enthusiast community that like tactile has really went overboard in the last couple years due to holy panda mods, and because of this the Zealios V2 is actually nothing like the original Zealios that essentially started the premium keyswitch trend. Zealios V1 are basically like what the MX Browns wish they were, slightly more tactile but a lot smoother. Zealios V2 have a very pronounced tactile bump trying to be closer to a holy panda. And because of this trend in the community, we’ve seen the preferred switch in the keyboard community shift over to high quality/premium linears, with another substantial piece of the community preferring the kailh clickbar switches (which won all but two of the positions in this video). Kailh clickbar switches are essentially linear switches with the key difference being that when you reach the activation point there is a very sharp/short resistance followed by a satisfy and sharp click. Typing accuracy is just so much better on linear type switches, and while old linears tended to be soul-less and mushy, every new linear/clickbar switch has been optimized to provide great feedback along with being precise/accurate to type on.
