I never really liked 90% until I actually sat down at my LCS recently, and he had bags and bags of this stuff and he's trying to get rid of it at spot price, and I sat there with a tray of Ben Franklins in front of me and I had an "a ha" moment. That we haven't minted half dollars since I guess the JFK half dollar so that was unique and also, as time goes on there will be less and less of 90% left. I heard some coin shops selling their 90% off to the refineries and they're starting to melt some of this stuff down. All that to say I think I'd be a fool not to buy 90% at spot price given the chance.

Silver Eagles are a good option but with other coins at such low premiums it's far more difficult to pick an Eagle over a different sovereign coin. Coin silver is an excellent option and a good choice for number one. I suspect that the best choices as silver rises in value will be one ounce and below. Thanks, Josh!

90% KHD and CSM are my favorites on this list. Hoping that pending tariffs don't place CSM out of reach. What they should do is make improvements on ASE, specifically on anti milk spotting and enhanced security. Hard for me to justify spending that much more on something that is prone to milk spotting; thus, reducing resale value.

Best to stick w/ the silver rounds (cheap cost & you are getting what you pay for). ASE's overpriced for a sloppily made coin (off centered using modern computerized minting equipment causing "finning" -see Salivate Metals). ASE's have "milk spots" and the poorest excuse for a security feature. The Canadian Maple Leaf seems to be the only sovereign coin that has overcome these problems and at a cheaper price. "Junk Silver" has really fallen from about where it was 6-8 years ago. Now we are overpaying (23x) for an underweight product. The last roll of Walker Halves (after doing the math) should have yielded 7.15 ozt. Mine came out to 6.99 ozt. This has happened to Merc & Roosey dimes too. I think all of the "correct weight" junk silver has been socked away in Guardhouse boxes in serious collectors permanent stack. You know that when silver gets up into the $40, $45 and $50 range, LCS, pawn shops and online dealers will start weighing your rolls of junk and only paying for the silver that's actually there (like in 1980).

The one thing about 90% that you might be omitting is that the new generation overwhelmingly hates it due to it being so aesthetically unappealing. We’re already seeing coin shops sell it at melt value and buying it back way under that, as they simply can’t unload the 90%. I really think that will continue to increase as demographics change and it’s viewed as your grandfather’s ugly junk coins, thus exacerbating how little you’ll be able to sell it back for. The buy to sell spread on Eagles and sovereigns is already better than 90% from what I see, and I think this will only widen. Time will tell…
