I can’t help but put those folks in their place. 1.) China (while literally swimming in Chinese products. Why the selective outrage over knives? Why not all products? … they NEVER have an answer because they’re just parroting some crap they heard someone else say) 2.) Why would you carry a _____ and not a ______? 3.) Blade steel nonsense. (The average human does nothing more than open packages with their knives and store them indoors in a controlled environment and think that requires some super steel. They are victims to marketing 101 and the knife companies love it) 4.) Brand loyalty and brand hatred nonsense. (If you don’t like a brand, don’t comment. You don’t need to take time to stop and say “I would never buy a _____”) 5.) I’d never spend that much on a knife, I’d just buy a gun. (Ummm guns don’t cut. You wouldn’t go to buy a couch and say, I’d never spend that much on a couch I’d just buy a fridge. Different things, different functions. Makes no sense whatsoever). Honorable mention: You never show your knives being used on your channel, therefore you never use your knives. (I don’t show myself taking a dump on my channel either, does that mean I never poop?)

@@CommonCentsOutdoorsman Haha 😆 They have been out in force lately. I’ve noticed that and talked to a couple other guys about it this weekend. And even made a post of some of my replies to some stupid comments… I was grouchy😆

@TimsSchoolOfFish Yeah, I try to refrain myself most of the time. I imagine some skinny 13yr old in mommas basement eating cheetos. Not worth my time.

Great video! 👍 Made me laugh! A couple favorite troller comments: “Partial tang and rat tail tang knives suck because of [bla bla bla].” Yeah, the Scandinavian and Finnish cultures don’t know crap about knives, huh? 😂 And let’s not forget, “That knife sucks because Joe X [this] and Joe X [that].” Um, ok. Joe X is a knife destroyer and entertainer. What does that have to do with using a knife for its intended purpose? 😂 So many troller comments to enjoy, so little time! 😄

I try to limit foreign made things then companies like Benchmade doubled their prices in three years and presto foreign made isn't so bad.

Ah yes Knife Steel Snobs. I have a nice collection of Buck Sheath knives, in the 100 series. The steel is 425HC for my early knives. And 420HC after 1992. Guess what, they hold and edge and are easy to sharpen. Okay, I am anti batoning. Well, unless I'm using one of my Khukuri's. I've been collecting knives since the mid 80's. Made in China, some times its pretty good. Yes, American made knives are okay, but way over prices. I just got a knife from a company in China called Eafengrow, it is a very well made knife. Okay I had to modify the sheath, but I am able to do that.

The steel snobs are always on the hunt! Eafengrow is no joke. Good stuff!

My most frequent complaints: 1. I'd never buy Chinese 2. 420J2 steel/ pot metal 3. Case quality control 4. I should have done ____ 5. Using Buck's SPA service is taking advantage of them. I welcome the comments as well so long as they aren't made personal. Thanks, CCO.

I mean, come on. Who doesn't like a good SPA service! 🤣🤣

Got the 'grandpa wouldn't approve, buy a hatchet' response this morning... I'd say it's in the top 5 critical comments I get. Blade steel and brand is probably the top of the list. Had a much bigger channel make a critical response once, it was awesome. Unfortunately he deleted it. Like you, I enjoy the dialog.

Grammer cops and info snobs. I was told the other day that saying (borderline powder steel) was a "meaningless statement ". I made it in regards to how the steel reacts to sharpening . ..Regardless I could care less about all the processes and facts about what is powder and whats ingot. Funny part is the person proved my point by saying "most people wouldnt know the difference between 154cm and CM154 without strict testing in a lab" ...or something of that effect. So basically for me the steel on my Ontario which I believe is 154cm feels a lot like powder steel when my hillbilly butt rubs it on a stone to make sharp N stuff.🤤

I try not to make stupid comments. I don't know enough about steel to criticize anyone's choices, and nothing I am ever likely to do with a knife will be significantly affected by the carbon content of the steel. Glad to hear even the dumb comments help your channel. Lol.

Just to be clear, are you classifying opposing viewpoints as stupid, or just those that might be condescending, annoying, belligerent, mean, disrespectful, or truly without any modicum of fact… I only ask because sometimes I don’t always agree with a presenter, but I try to be courteous when I comment. I have been insulted because of an opposing viewpoint that the presenter felt was incorrect… and anyone that felt that way was uneducated or inexperience…
@CommonCentsOutdoorsman9 ай бұрын
Definitely not. Opposing viewpoints are awesome! I'm talking about the simple statements like "420hc Sucks" with no "point of view" or reasoning added at all. I hope that clears things up. Thanks for the great question brother!
