Top 5 Things to do in Waiheke - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND

One of the treasures of Auckland, we've had some of our best weekends away on Waiheke Island and now we share with you some of our favourite spots.
Starting with a bit of info on how to get to Waiheke we then head over to our activities.
Stop 1 - EcoZip Adventures - Beautiful in every way shape and form. This is one of the most fun ways to see wonderful Waiheke zooming over the top. The forest walk back to the top was absolutely amazing as well where your guide teaches you about New Zealand forestry.
Address: 150 Trig Hill Rd, Waiheke Island, Auckland 1081
Hours: Monday - Sunday 8am-5pm
Stop 2 - Ocean View Road - The main street of Waiheke Island hosts access to wonderful Oneroa beach as well as plentiful food spots and beach stores. Don't forget to stop off at Whittaker's Music Museum if you love historic instruments. It's a small cash donation for entry and make sure you call ahead to find out if there's a live performance on.
Located just off Oneroa road on:

Hours: Hours: Monday - Sunday 1-4pm
Stop 3 - Waiheke beaches! Waiheke has some beautiful beaches. We stopped off at Oneroa beach but other fantastic spots are Palm Beach, Onetangi and Ostend.
Stop 4 - Experience a nature walk there are so many you can choose from. We walked little Oneroa to Fishermans rock which was a nice little trek with great views along the way.
Stop 5 - Mudbrick Restaurant and Vineyard, probably one of the most popular reasons people come to Waiheke is to experience a vineyard. If you're a lover of good food and wine this place is for you. We even manage to get a wine expert teach us the ropes during our wine tasting.

Hahahahahaha years of practice 😂bro seriously even it's been years mototapu camp was the bomb. I remember the flying fox as being massive but if we ever go back it's prolly tiny hahahaha. First time I did ab sailing was there too 😁

hahahahaha I have no idea if that's a thing but it seemed right at the time 😂😂😂 🥂 I think extremely cold weather is cool for like a day and then you just start fantasizing about warmer weather I know that feeling too hahahaha. It's really hard to beat a new Zealand summer. The weather combined with the nature makes this weekend amazing 😁🇳🇿 you look everywhere and feel at peace🌿 we stayed the night and spent hours just looking at all the stars at night so awesome

New Zealand is quite a seasonal spot for tourists summer and autumn are usually incredibly popular months as it's also winter on other countries. The wine was actually tastier than I expected 😂 might need to do that more often. It was also nice to clear up a few of the mysteries of wine with an expert hahahaha. Looks so beautiful here. I wanna visit one day! Zip lining.... Will likely scare the heck out of me but it.. Looks fun and safe.. Ish 😂😂 what instrument does Yen's dad play? So cool. The beaches you guys have there... Looks so green/blue compared to here. It just looks.... Grey black here haha. Vineyard... Right next to the beach seems so surreal. I have tried some NZ wine here. I am not much of a wine drinker either tho. When I do drink wine I do mostly Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Cab. Super dope video guys!

O man grey black water sounds horrible... 😅 waiheke is like your own slice of paradise. The eco zip is super safe since you're harnessed in no chance of falling out. Yens dad plays in a band and he's always played keyboard and a little bit of guitar. Glad you enjoyed the video bro!

If you like Pinot Noir you should try one from Central Otago in NZ. Otago is the world's most southerly wine producing area, their Pinots are outstanding. Look out for Mt. Difficulty, Gibbston Valley and Rockburn.

Fun video 🙌🙌🙌 YAY! This place looks amazing~ I did that ziplining thing, too at this island off the coast of California called Catalina... it was pretty cool, but I don't think I got over how scary it was even after the 3rd or 4th zipline lol. You guys made it look so easy haha

Hahaha yen is scared of most animals, it's unfortunate 😂 waiheke is a great spot been going there for years. It's not just beautiful its also well built up for unique experiences. Nice to be able to feel like you're in a totally new place with just a one hour ferry ride 😁

Hey guys 😄 Waiheke seems like a bit of a hidden gem! Even though NZ is a country made up of two islands, I never really think of it as having beaches 😂 I always just associate it with the snow and beautiful mountains! BUT WOW that beach is STUNNING!! And hardly any people there. Ziplining looks like so much fun! YIKES but going hands free sounds scary 😂 what a walk back up to! A vineyard with beach views is the dream 😍

I got a story for you guys. When yen was young her primary school teacher put a chrysalis of a monarch butterfly from outside into a jar with no branch. Yen checked it everyday excited to see the butterfly. Eventually it came out but had nothing to grab on and yen found a slimy butterfly dead remain cause it couldn't dry out. She was traumatised after that and has a bug phobia ever since. But yeah... we love waiheke too 😂❤

😊 yeah we've gotten some great use of the drone over this summer. Mum and dad are cute they saved the wine and want to open it on a special occasion so for now they won't know. Dad kept a whiskey yen and I bought for him for his 60th for 3 years now hahaha
