Great video with solid tips to consider before purchasing with James Allen. I have been strongly considering purchasing with them and your video confirmed it. Like many of your other videos, I found this one to be very helpful. Also, I heard that James allen is affiliated with Jared and so because of that you can take your rings to get cleaned and even resized for free. That true? Anyway, thanks again for all your help through your videos, man. God bless 🙏🏼

Question about the ring insurance, do you get your quote based off of 1.) the price you paid for the ring? 2.) the price you paid for the ring + shipping? Or 3.) the value quoted on that sheet of paper? The difference between 1 and 3 is about $1500, which equates to about a $50/yr difference in premiums. Im confused which to use. Thanks!

The appraised value, so the value on the sheet of paper (the appraisal). That's what the ring is worth, and you'll want to insure it for the value it's worth in case you ever needed to replace it. If you get insurance through a dedicated jewelry insurer, they'll often specify that you should use the appraised value, and they may even ask to see the appraisal.

Has James Allen changed? I remember looking a few years ago and the options were way wider, but the reviews were really bad! My dream ring build was around $900 but I was scared off from all the bad reviews.

Can you do a video of your 2 carat SI1 lab diamond and what the flaws looked like on the website?

So I tried asking thier chat support they don’t give any reports unless you purchase the stone first

The reports are actually on the diamond page where you would see the various images for that diamond. You should see an image for the certification doc too

Did you receive the ring by estimated delivery date or was it delayed?

I recommend that serious fine jewelry lovers stick to Cartier Jewelry or Van Cleef and Arpel. James Allen jewelry goes up on the price for a larger size. A size 8 ring size costs double the price of a size 4 ring size. Not good and Cartier and Van Cleef and Arpel has the same price for all sizes.

I was a fan of lab grown diamonds until I did research and found out they hold no real monetary value. Can you imagine giving a beautiful ring to you paid thousands of dollars for to your wife or passed down to family and that find out it’s worth less than a hundred dollars. Because it’s a lab grown diamond. I thought lab diamonds are the same as natural diamonds but they are not and there’s a test to differentiate between the natural real diamond and a lab grown one . They’re both carbon and look alike but lab diamonds don’t have any real value since they can be pumped out of a factory for cheap. In fact as technology advances the price and value of laboratory diamonds continue to drop. I think iIt’s a horrible deal to pay thousands for something that holds no real value. If you want something sentimental suggest a affordable synthetic , CZ or even a white sapphire most people can’t tell the difference between a real diamond or synthetic anyways and you’ll be saving thousands. People should buy what makes them happy but be informed that if you buy a natural diamond you have something worth a lot of money. If you buy laboratory grown diamond you paid a lot of money for something worth very little.

That's true if you are investing in diamonds. I don't expect my family to sell my diamonds, but if they do, I can't forcast what the diamond market will look like in 50 years or more. Maybe in the future, no one cares if it is lab created or mined. I really don't care if my family can't profit off my jewelry. I hope my jewelry will have more emotional impact than financial impact for them.

@@toniharrrison7125 Couldn't have said it better. If you're in the market to make your monies back or profit from your purchase of a diamond, then maybe you should just buy an "earth" diamond so that your that your beneficiaries could feel better about you.

I'm with you, a natural diamond took many years to form, has inherit value.

If you want resale/investment value, buy gold instead of diamond. Gold has trading prices, diamond doesn’t. Diamond (real) is expensive when you purchase but doesn’t hold its value when you sell. Name brand ones like Cartier or Tiffany may hold its value better but still. I agree with you on lab diamonds, they are not really cheap but they worth so little in resale. Moissanite is a better alternative in that regards.

They sound like a scam company bc $96k for a 14k diamond curb chain is ridiculous 😤 what a crook Edit: must be a 20mm size 24 curb link
