Not a flaw. These sort of things shouldn’t happen so they are not normal or commonplace but it is very important that the accused has the right to confront their accuser. In these circumstances it’s ugly and gross but you have to substitute these examples for others which are less…. Unpalatable.

@@Indigo_European it’s a flaw when there’s absolutely zero efforts to lessen the impact and further trauma to a victim when they’re being forced to testify, yet it seems every incompetent/foolish/outlandish/claims-to-be-insane defendant gets every accommodation possible when it’s their “turn”…look at Darrell Brooks, he got his own courtroom, headphones, and plenty of chances to correct his behavior, and was given so many adaptable opportunities to do so. Or Shanda Vander Ark who tortured her mentally handicapped teenage son to death…she also got to play the victim in her own trial and bow out of listening to the horrific details, yet even the jury members in that trial will be traumatized from seeing an emaciated 15 year old boy dead in autopsy photos… It’s a flaw…in any system… that little kids have to testify in front of the very adults who harm them. There could very well be another way to prevent further damage. I stand by it! But I do understand your perspective and points completely.

I have watched a million murder documentaries and never seen a defendent so terrifying...I cannot imagine how the woman and her children could spend more than 60 seconds in a room with him...how could the legal system make that poor boy suffer this lunatics interrogation????

The brooks trial was and is amazing to watch. Judge dorow is an amazing judge who to this day takes on big cases and deals with people properly! Brooks is due back in court this year on his other charges, and it's likely he will represent himself again.

The first guy , Him acting like he’s a lawyer was so ignorant…,a lawyer would not curse Gods name in vain… lawyers are more dignified. That precious son having to witness to his monster dad, took so much courage , he is one brave young man…he’s more of a man than his dad(the killer)

God I wish the first judge was over Ruby and Jodi. Or Judge Boyce. I hope the Utah system decides to do the right thing.

Agreed. I'm concerned that the judge is going to give Ruby and Jodi light sentences when they both deserve the maximum sentences because they tortured children. Ruby and Jodi are the worst type of monsters who prey on innocent children because kids can't fight back. Who knows what else those monsters are capable of if they are ever set free?! I'm confident that Jodi and Ruby will continue to cause harm to others after they are released. I hope that they both get 60 years.

Morgan and Morgan didn't help me at all. I listened to a very hopeful message about Mr. Morgan's brother. My husband was in an MVA, his femur broke and had to have 3 operations in 7 mo. to fix the botched surgery. Mr. Morgan's office response..we don't do malpractice, even though they advertise they do.

8:20 Any attorney who reviews your case “in 8 clicks” is not someone I would hire. Cases are complicated and life is complicated and that is not how you decide whether, or how, to represent a potential client. Jesse makes that “8 clicks” sound like a major selling point.

Liberty Correctional Institute is terrible name for a prison. I prefer Utah's approach, where Ruby Franke and Jodi Hildebrandt are being held in Purgatory Correctional Facility. MUCH more appropriately named!

At 13:03 there is a comment, something like "... refused to wear his headphones ...". I believe this comment gives an incorrect impression of the trial conditions. For clarity, the narration should note that the court later established the headphones were not required for Darrell to hear the court proceedings.
