Bought someone a drone because they were going to south America, and I thought they would get good picks, about 1 week after they got it. I get a call saying he flew it into a lake. I've flown over water and honestly, I've noticed the drones handle differently. I think the water affects the handling and the signals, sent to the drone.

ESCs fry when they get wet. Also, the battery short circuiting is never good. With an all in 1 package like a DJI, there would be no way to replace just the ESCs, and the whole thing would be trashed.
