Inspiring words about the selected universities alright. In fact it sounded like all the narrator had to do for the production is change the university name for each selection. Like virtually ALL universities and colleges in the USA, the dismal failure even with these prestigious institutions, to match course content to the actual needs of the graduated student. Courses are mainly exchanges of information since the skills necessary for success are ignored and the individual student attributes are ignored throughout. Universities are populated with educators who are subject matter information experts who have zero understanding of instructional design. The paper chase is still the main reason for university experience.

PLEASE spell BERKELEY correctly if you are going to comment. I am from the British Isles but I graduated from Berkeley. It is a wonderful place and I am proud and honoured to have studied there. Call it Cal or simply the University of California. As the first of the chain it does not need to have the town added.

I do not know exactly when the rot set in, but there was a story more than 5 years ago about a professor who gave a student a B+ and was threatened with a lawsuit by the student's parents. Amazingly, the authorities at Harvard came down on the student's side. arguing that since a B at Harvard was worth an A at most universities, he should get the A. Arrogance, and a betrayal of standards. After all, if that is the case that a Harvard C or even D+ equates to an A at lower ranked schools students functioning at that level should also get an A. A Harvard B would equate to a B at the other Ivies, Stanford (not Standard Ford as the title of that section suggests) MIT, etc. I also note that in 2007, they were sitting on an Endowment Fund totaling over $35 billion. The was a small uproar over this and Harvard finally decided to spend some of that money on education instead of building up an ever bigger fund. Families making less than something like $140,000 would get free tuition Note that Cambridge is still expensive to live in but a lot of students no longer had to take out loans for th $46,000 tuition. Harvard has some problems.
