@@happycow have you ever seen a fruit in Brazil called corpu azul. Not sure of the spelling. Years ago I was in Manaus Amazon. There I ate a very delicious fruit that looked like a giant bean pod. The outer skin looked like a kiwi, the inside was. Off white hairy meaty flesh surrounding a large dark seed and when you bit into it the color changed to a blue tone. I hope you can taste it one day.

Next time try coming to Goiás on our rainy season (November - February) we have a lot of Cerrado native fruits like Guapeva, Murici, Curriola, Marmelada de Cachorro, Cagaita and much more. And here we have a famous dish known as 'Galinhada com Pequi' wich is delicious.

Jaboticaba is the tastier and best fruit in the world. I've got a jaboticaba tree in my yard and twice a year we harvest tons of fruit and distribute among family and friends...

Amazing! This is the first time I've seen Abiu fruit out of the Amazon, even here is not well known unless you have easy access to farms! Great!

This country is so big I myself have never heard of Abiu before (and yes, I do read a lot of vegan blogs and websites haha)! I hope things get well sooner than later so we can have more of these videos :)

Good to watch my home city on HappyCow! Mercado Municipal has fruits from all over the country and many of them are exotic even to a São Paulo's citizen (for example, I've never heard of abiu). I imagine you guys also have been to Augusta Street, the main vegan spot in Brazil! :)

Hello Renato. I didn't rank the fruits, because they were all great in different ways. The one I most crave now is the Seriguela. That passion fruit was the best I have ever had. I hope to get back to Brazil soon to speak. The event I was supposed to speak at (produced by Rosana Tsibana ..she invited me) was cancelled due to Covid 19. (facebook.com/encontrovegano/). Thank you very much, andthanks to Rosana for helping with the camera and fruit pronunciations in the video.

Seriguela is really delicious, I ate it a lot when I lived in Bahia state. And I'm curious about this kind of passion fruit, I will try it as soon as I can! Good job, HappyCow! :) I hope we can watch more travel videos when this pandemic ends.

@@RenatoCosta84 Yes. That passion fruit variety is too good to be true. Have you seen a ripe green passion fruit before? I ate at Animal Chef on Augusta (as you mentioned). The food in Brazil is great (fruit and restaurants). One thing that definitely makes Brazil unique for health-minded people are salad bars at gas station-based restaurants off of the highway. I have not seen that anywhere else in the world.

@@kenspector3130 I've heard of that green passion fruit before, but I've never eaten that. It looks very tasty! Yeah, mainly in São Paulo state even restaurants located along the highways we can find a lot of options for salads! :) In a non-vegetarian restaurant, for example, it's really hard to find a vegan alternative to meat, but usually we can easily get by with rice, bean, fries and a good variety of vegetables :)

Interesting how the Caju fruit is a nut and a fruit all in one but is the most dangerous from eating it with safe precautions of the excess fluids leaking inside.

@cariocalilianspisani4 жыл бұрын
The correct name is ABIL and not abio. It grows in the Mara Atlantica region like a Rio de Janeiro. In the back yard I have a tree Abil, Manga espada and Jabuticaba. Yes, jabUticaba the correct form.

Até a reforma ortográfica de 1943 Brasil era com z ("Brazil"). Farmácia era escrita como "pharmácia" etc.
