Correction - @ 7:57 and 11:34, I mention Pearl Nano also being a Switcher - that is not the case. Pearl Nano is a single-channel encoder and does not have any switching capabilities. However, Pearl Mini and Pearl-2 do have switching capabilities. Sorry for any confusion.

Hey Tony! Very interesting video from you and Joe! I have very limited experience with SRT but your video gives me confidence that I could adopt the tech very easily when needed. Interesting to see how some devices are slower at doing the same task - proving again details matter! Thanks guys!!

Thanks for watching Doug! Yeah, the audio video gear is a lot of fun to play with. It’s a form of tech obviously, not networking stuff like I normally do on my channel but I’m getting more and more involved with the A/V side of things and having a good time with it. Happy Thanksgiving

What a great video! This was very well done and very informative. This video goes to show you that the encoder and decoder really matter.

Thanks for the video Tony! Does Joe have a different channel now? He ran "Learn Blue Iris" channel right?
@QuikTechSolutions4 ай бұрын
Hey Mark, thanks for watching. Yes, Joe ran the “Learn Blue Iris” channel for a short time. I believe he’s moved on to other things at this time. I’ll let him know you were asking. Have a great day!

Can you do something with encoders? Thanks for the great videos. Also, watching the latency section, I notice a significant difference. Are all the settings the same (resolution, frame rate and bit rate)?
@QuikTechSolutions11 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for tuning in. Yes, all the same settings.

I think you should try a more direct link from your to his. I think AWS may have did some wonky stuff. I'm surprised how different every ran. I liked the uray one and that was the cheap one. The resolution on the pearl was horrible. That is crazy for the price. I feel something must have happened in the cloud. You can mutli stream with obs and a plugin they have for the source and direct it to your studio.

I think we’ll do a video on the AWS setup. It enabled us to send the exact same stream at the exact same time to 5 decoders. Be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss it.

Obs can do the same thing with the obs multistream plugin is what I’m saying. Vmix can do up to 4 as well. Can’t you do it with the kiloview devices too? The e3 or something like it. I just feel like aws did something weird to the latency and resolution. Just my opinion, I’d love to see you try something more people might have access to. Some people don’t have AWS.

@Urbanmediashowcase I totally understand this point. Thats why we specified this was strictly for testing vs a real world use case. In an actual use case we’d probably use multiple encoders sending directly to multiple decoders. Or, use something like Epiphan Connect to send the SRT streams.

@@QuikTechSolutions not to be annoying, just wanted to see it from a software or hardware multi stream. I don’t always trust the cloud because it’s running on something other than what is local on each site. It’s a bridge that can have lower data rates or technical issues. When it works, it’s great.

@@Urbanmediashowcase not being annoying at all. I appreciate all the feedback.
