I bought the IE intake and the turbo inlet and it’s absolutely perfect. You can’t hear it at cruising RPM, but it’s very loud when you want it to be, and it claims to add 10hp (though I have my doubts, the turbo spools up noticeably faster). The cone is also MASSIVE and looks great. All around 10/10 mod and it’s the best all around intake, excelling in performance, aesthetics, and sound. Side note on the sound, it is so loud that you can hear it way down the street, or so my neighbors tell me. Another side note on the sound of the intake, when you have the windows down it sounds so loud in the passenger seat that it sounds like you have your ear right up against the intake, which is probably just some weird way that the sound refracts through the cabin. It sounds louder in the passenger seat than in the driver seat… Anyways that’s my review for the IE intake. If you’re considering an intake, you’ll absolutely love this one. I was skeptical at first because it was quite a bit of money for the inlet and the intake, but it was well worth it. Last thing I’ll say is make sure you buy the inlet as well as the intake! You’ll regret not getting both OR getting the inlet later and having to rip out the intake to put the inlet in. Edit: I forgot to add that I’ve had it in for a few months now, no issues at all. Just make sure that you use the rubber holding pieces on the grommets of the original intake box. Also, apply the 3M pads. Mock install the intake, take it out, place the pads where needed, then you’ll never deal with rattling.

@@braydengeorge427 yes, everything is still working perfectly. My only issue is that the metal sheets can collect lots of dust, but it can be cleaned very easily. I’ve probably driven around 8k miles with the intake so far and also I daily my GTI

@@GoBIGclan everywhere in the engine bay collects lots of dust in my experience. The dust that settles on the black metal plates is just particularly noticeable which I think looks awful. However, it’s SUPER easy to clean, especially compared to the rest of the engine bay

@@patricjacobs5747 67k miles engine issues. I'm not sure if it was tune related or from the dealership 'fixing' a leaky valve cover. Do oil changes every 5K, and spark plugs every 15K just to be safe. I sold the GTI, back in a 3 pedal 2024 GOLF R, running APRs full torque 93 octane stage I tune. Slapped that on at 3K miles. Have 9K miles now. No issues, not even on the stock clutch.

@vandyy82 жыл бұрын
@@tredfxman I’ve had it so i speak from experience… it has a metal intake hose that gets insanely hot after a short amount of pulls and starts to get heat soaked really bad and you can really tell on a stage 2 car. I’ve opted for the apr open pex system with an upgraded intake hose and a tip. A lot less heat soak and it looks a hell of a lot better. The injen is ok if you use it for those cold winter months and if you’re not tuned but if you’re tuned I’d highly recommend to keep your distance, don’t let the price and sound fool you. Good luck
@jonnyplusone48942 жыл бұрын
Do you not get the racingline r600 in the US or the forge mqb intake? Best flow, look oem+ and are enclosed So no heatsoak to worry about but less noise. But the biggest gains to be made on the gti and golf r on the intake side is by upgrading the turbo elbow

They actually are mostly for sound! The variance in power from one intake to another is about the same as when you drive your car on a cool day vs. a warm day. 0-5hp is not something you could notice. When you have a lot of other performance mods, that is when an intake makes the most difference!
