I'm getting older. Just turned 46. It's harder to balance all my responsibilities in life (job, wife, kid, hobbies, friends, family, house up keep...) and get out on the bike. This is a great sensible plan for keeping fit in the Winter.

Just go out and ride! I ride to get fit and for fun, don't do racing and couldn't care less about competition or records. All about feeling good and having fun for me :) Having to beat a record or achieve a set goal is the ultimate motivation killer for me.

Same here. I just love riding in nature. I don't need any extra motivation. I only need proper clothing.

During the winter I do longer fasts to improve insulin sensitivity, increases HGH naturally and reduce inflammation. Hit classes, yoga and bike 2 times a week longer rides over 2 hrs.
@mtnbikehead5 жыл бұрын
Andrew Rivera Started doing that exactly a year ago due to worsening health, despite loads of exercise. Fasting is easy once the breads, sugars are cut out of diet. I had one of my best rides after breaking a 60 hour fast. Fastest overall speed and lots of PRs and a few trophies on trails I have been hammering on for years. Insulin Sensitivity and HGH increases from fasting really do improve performance. I lost over 60 lbs 224-160 lbs in 5 months and had my best year ever. Ride on.
@andrewrivera40295 жыл бұрын
Rockhead Gary that’s great! I’m on day 5 of an 11 day snake juice fast. Just did a power yoga class and accessory weights just to activate the muscles. All inflammation is gone! just retired, did yearly physical all numbers are perfect and getting ready for the Nepal enduro in April then my daughter and I are gonna trek to Everest base camp!

Thanks great video. Already knew about the S.M.A.R.T targets before from work. However the video reminded me that to take this into sports training in my private live also would be crutial. I will change my sports targets to more realistic ones that I can consistently fulfill.

Warm finger and warm toes, spend the money on good gloves and shoes! I carry two pairs of gloves, a starting pair to warm up and keep the wind out until my fingers warm up, and then before things get sweaty swap to a lighter pair. For your shoes, buy at least a half to one size up* (room for your toes to wiggle), through in a toe warmer, and love yourself a nice merino blend. * I have yet to find winter/shoe boot that actually fits to size (and assume you are wearing a thicker sock).

I've not been mountain biking for over 20 years. I've found a place about an hours drive away with different graded rides. None of them has jumps but they do increase in technicality. My bike feels really weird (a lot has changed in 20 years). Whilst not exactly measurable I'm planning on using the green, blue and red trails to improve my fitness and skills.
