B4 viewing the video I would like to whine and complain. Feel free to skip ahead. Other videos about GA claim "NO ONE lives in S. GA". Well someone is running those reptile petting ponds where Canadians pay $25 to see an alligator get fed. NEWSFLASH Canada....just roll down your car window or stay in a hotel near a lake. When exiting the hotel it would behoove you to look first b4 running out to your car. Also, that witchy looking family the Plaths on tlc. And Pres. Carter. "Why are there no cities on the GA coast". I had to call my cousins when I read that to make sure Savannah and its port were still there. Brunswick - as in the stew. Tybee Island where the Kennedy's vacation and JFK jr was married. Some Gullah are around. 1 More and I will hush up. "Tyler Perry just sold his mansion in Atlanta for 110 million". Amazing considering the most expensive mansion is around $45 million. This is no reflection on this video as I have not viewed it yet. Just needed to set some sigogglin ideas straight. (uh oh, my Smoky mtn talkin' is coming out)

Agreed. My partner commutes Alpharetta to the far side of lake Lanier. I would like to know why either the county or state gov are trying to control our population by installing yet more round abouts not to mention the 2 bridges on 85N which require you to drive on the left side while crossing the bridge *Pleasant Hill*. The DOT must know this will increase accidents unless the gov agrees to re-educate and recertify everyone's DL.

So true! The commute between Alpharetta and Atlanta can definitely be a challenge, especially during peak hours. Sunday mornings are a whole different story, though-nice and peaceful! Finding ways to beat that traffic, like adjusting work hours or considering remote options, can really help. Do you have any favorite routes or tips for making the commute a bit easier?

We just moved to 30066. We moved from South Florida (Sarasota) 2.5 years ago and wanted to make sure we were in a good area for school since our son was 3 years old. He’s now 5 and we’re happy to have in a a great public school zone for next year. What I like most is the diversity here even in Metro Atlanta. It’s a big difference from where we moved. I work in Buckhead and it’s only like 25-30 mins for me. I love going through the back roads of Chastain park. Honestly, those homes are out of magazines. Always inspires me so it was great to see that come in as #1 because I definitely have seen with my own two eyes why it made it to the top.

No mention of Decatur...City of Decatur Schools, lots of the same amenities and it’s much closer to the city than Alpharetta/Milton, Roswell or East Cobb. Having to commute GA400 and the top end perimeter(285) is always BRUTAL! Those areas are nice but that drive is gonna get old really quick. City of Decatur averages 7-8 miles from Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead. Also, much closer to the airport which is HUGE for those folks who are always press for time tying to catch a flight.

Good point. I lived in Decatur before moving to east cobb and would have stayed if, at the time, I could have afforded the home I needed in the school schools I needed. Lived in downtown Atlanta 1970-1975 (ugh!). Moved to Alpharetta in 1975 when it had nothing but a walk-up Dairy Queen, an Exxon station and mom and pop store. GA 400 was only two lanes. Holcomb Bridge literally had a two lane bridge. Windward was nothing but agriculture and horse farms. Obviously I saw Alpharetta evolve into what it is today. Because of the wealth in Alpharetta, we were the cash cow to downtown Atlanta. Love Alpharetta but very expense to live there.

You're correct and the purpose of this video was to incorporate the top 5 wealthiest zips in metro atlanta but that would make the titel too long. Great video, but I think this list is more so skewed to single family homes. To me, newer built single family homes that are more inward to the city (e.g. Virginia Highlands, Inman Park, Midtown) are more expensive than Alpharetta and East Cobb. However, because there are many townhomes and apartments in the city, it brings down the average value of the single family homes. Also, I imagine the single family homes within the perimeter will be more expensive on a price per square foot than Alpharetta and East Cobb because the average home outside the perimeter is bigger.

If your client likes the small town charm feel and maybe riding a golf cart to the grocery store, they will love it. It is a very quiet and family friendly area. The con (depends on how you look at it) would be there is quite a bit of construction happening with the new hospital and new developments. The road where Chateau Elan is under extensive construction. So, people may just want to be sensitive to the fact the area is rapidly growing and traffic can be a nuisance.

I live in Alpharetta, zip code 30004, surprised to hear you say this is referred to as horse country; maybe more so on the Milton side of 30004; not Alpharetta side. We do have some of the best schools as well 😊

Correct. When people are moving into the state from outside they say "we're moving to Atlanta" but they wind up exploring metro too. I simply took the top wealthiest zips in city of and just outside. Thanks for the comment!

Lady seems nice. However info given (if it is literally supposed to be the top five wealthiest neighborhoods) is incorrect. Chastain is the only one correct for the most part. And the shopping she showed related to Chastain is not even in that ZIP Code. Bottom line, nobody in Atlanta that knows real estate would say those first four zips are the best we have. They may be nice and have a few multi million dollar homes and country club sprinkled in there. But they are not where the Multi million dollar homes are lined up side-by-side for a very long drive.

Buckhead is crime infested and would not even put it on this list. My list would be Milton-Alpharetta, Johns Creek-Alpharetta, Duluth-Sugarloaf, Cumming-Forsyth County, East Cobb and maybe Roswell. I gave 6 instead of 5 internet police 👮‍♀️.

I grew up in 30327. My family moved there in 1955. Today the pretentious residents in this area hardly know their neighbors and all have alarm systems to protect against crime. The city of Atlanta is a traffic snarled cesspool of crime. We escaped in 2012 for good

To be be clear Alpharetta, Roswell, East Cobb is not Atlanta. Anywhere outside the perimeter, particularly Alpharetta, you may spend hours in traffic DAILY. And this also depends upon where you work! This is NOT Atlanta!!!!! These are suburbs of Atlanta which require a great deal of driving as traffic here is RARELY clear.
