My VE Maloo came with black 5 spoke Vs rims and it was pretty much the selling point for me. Simple and gives a nice view of those big brakes.

Yep brake clearance is a big issue when selecting new wheels. We have found Koya's and Forgeline the only ones where you can fit decent sized brakes and get down to a 18" wheel.

Used to run an aggressive set of WORK wheels on my vf. Was a hassle as I daily it but loved the look of them and high quality. Now just running the walky reps but easy to clean and don't look half bad. Love the vids keep up the good work 🤙

Simmons were used on race cars at Bathurst in the Group A days. I remember them on the Bob Jane Commodore.

I thought they were the mesh style V5? I remember Greens Tuff had a mesh style wheel but it wasn’t made by Simmons. I thought the Grice driven, BobJane Commodore used Simmons in 1986 or 1987.

I like all those wheels but I'm not really a Holden fan boy as such, I like the Simmons rims but racing specific performance rims would be my go to over looking good. My old man has 2 sets of original walkinshaw wheels in the shed that he wants to keep but I just don't understand the hype over old commodore wheels. I'd rather buy a set of trick looking light weight performance wheels to put on my commodore but that's just me. I love the red vf, she sounds great and looks beautiful. I'd love to see a video update on the Brock 05 commy🙂🏎️

Cheers thanks mate. We are a fan of Simmons for looks but have never owned a set. We love the light weight wheels for track days and performance - that's why our Koyas are our go to wheel.

Hi Fred , I track my car and the wheel ,tyre combo weights in around 30 kg with the tyre at 15 and the wheel the same , if we can save 5 kg a wheel maybe , it adds up, is there a lighter wheel for the track ?

@@ClunieGarage l’m using AD08r , but my wheels are niche 19 x 9.5 , I bought them not being aware of their weight, I will check out the koyas . AD08r weighs 14 kg , my wheel weighs 14kg , I just put them on the scales , total 28 kg , curious what your wheel and tyre weighs?

Best rims? Gts-r for strength and size on an oem rim. Otherwise obviously vf senator rims for a classy calais with brembos, and vf2 r8 rims. The 20" walky copies... No thanks. I've just got vf Calais v rims with spacers to clear my Cadillac brembos, waiting for vf senators to get cheaper.

@@ClunieGarage are the jdm style really becoming more popular not sure if I like them I have a ve ssv with the gold Simmons copies I love them had my car resprayed in the vf grey I thought I would have to change the colour but when I seen it I thought those colours actually go together pretty good
