The 462 MEL Big Block was the all time best ! Do something different, put a 1969 462 ci MEL and a Top Loader/ 9 inch diff in a 2 door XW Falcon ! 475 HP standard in 1966 , something really different, my old friend Jeff Dellow at Revesby in Sydney always said " do something different , I'm sick of seeing chevs in Holdens , I got a 403 ci Oldsmobile on the floor that will bolt into a Holden 10 X easier than a chev , or a Ford 462 ci big block , they bolt in but now one does it , do something different!" And I did , I put a 403 ci Small Block Oldsmobile out of a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am (Smokey and the bandit !) a Turbo 200 r4 4 speed over drive and 4.44 LSD Salisbury in a HX Holden One Tonner, no cutting tail shaft factory Holden fits T200 4r , VN 5.0 engine mounts fit 403 Olds , was a 2 day fit, trans bolted to Holden cross member , Speedo cable fitted, Holden shifter fitted T200 4r , so something really different, like a 462 in a Falcon ! We all sick of LS motors in everything !

I was in Ingham when the first Camira came out advertised as a SUPERCAR, all the workers got a drive and we all got a drive under supervision ( I was told to slow down) and we all came back disappointed.

Met the guys today at an event, they helped out my mate, Fred even went out with him for a few laps and shaved a whole 2 seconds off his PB in his DC2R with some amazing guidance. Amazing and friendly guys, awesome to meet you guys and hopefully catch you guys round at another event.

CNC heads are a waste of money unless your putting in big cui, a big cam and compression there's other ways to get hp out of a LS especially if you got req port heads as they already flow great engine builder are saying their only see 20hp out of a set of CNC ported heads, theres 10-15hp with roller rockers alone , fast intake manifold for even more, if you want bang for a buck put a stroker kit then you got as much as 100-125hp and huge torque, I had my heads hand ported I'm making 1400hp with my stroker and big 98mm Turbo, dont get caught up in the CNC wank unless you building something that can take advantage of big port head

You lost me at the ZB... Ill just speak from personal experience i think: The ZB was actually a really nice car. I know that because I've driven two of them. Plenty of features and tech, surprisingly fun to flog around, plenty of room inside, really practical because of the liftback, etc... it's actually a great car. (and it's actually pretty fun to drive too...) it was seriously good value for the money at the time. Best daily driver Commodore ever made in my opinion, the VF being the best performance Commodore. Get the ZB off this list and open your eyes.

Bought a new VL Group A Walky back in 89 and sadly only had it for a year. Now have near new 2017 VF SS-V Redline Supercharged and had a few nice Holdens in between. Love Holdens and wish we could still have them in Australia. With the developement Holden was doing, it would be interesting to see what they would have now. Ahead of their time imho.

WTAF.. This should be called TOP 5 HSVs of all time, HSV use Holden platforms, but we're not owned by Holden they were totally separate and are still in business. Only car on your list that is 100% Holden is the A9X.

I hate people who try to segregate things, I like to embrace any type of work done to a car whether it's bling or performance. One of my mates glued a 10 cent coin to the centre of his steering wheel and everyone went absolutely fucking nuts over it. Very little people give a shit about how fast your car goes around the track, waste of money.. 💰💰💰🚽

I remember the Director/Walkinshaw commodores when new and even back than always thought that they looked overdressed. A bit like a fat opera singer past her age. The VL had a slick shape as standard and only needed a bit of finessing to really stand out in my opinion. For my bucket list a two door HQ Monaro with a 502, 5-speed and quick change rear would suit me fine Although an EH with a 327 with 3x2's, M21 and Halibrand Quick Change as my daily driver

Great list mate. For me 1. LX A9X hatch 2. VL SS Walkinshaw Group A 3. VK SS Group A 4. VN SS Group A 5. VH SS Group 3 HK HG HT were too slow at the time XU1 was lucky enough to get the perfect storm with the perfect driver to win a "Tom and Jerry" bathurst. Very overrated in my opinion. If there was ever a 6 cylinder going to be worth mentioning, it would have to be a VL Turbo 5 speed in any form. Even today they are over engineered.

Make sure that you get your tow bar height perfect so that the trailer sits flat, otherwise you’ll scrub the tyres out very quickly

We’ve set up a small solar panel on ours to trickle charge the battery as after time the battery can lose charge if not being used. Bloody good trailer though. We have found that if the trailer isn’t loaded perfectly though, it will move around a lot behind you.
