Wow! All these years I thought "I'm Not in Love" by 10cc was a Paul McCartney and Wings song. His voice is eerily like McCartney's. I loved the song "Winds of Change" by the Scorpians, but I never paid any attention to who it was by. One of the most hauntingly beautiful Rock songs ever. George Michael had an amazing voice. What a shame the only one of his songs that made it big was one of his worst. Listen to "Kissing a Fool" or "Father Figure" for a truly romantic, beautiful song. And of course, "Hand to Mouth" was phenomenal. Some really great music here.

I was blown away by the effect Elvis had, then the Beatles and Stones. Then along came ABBA, which had quite the run too! Madonna showed some incredible lasting power, as she remained up there from 84 to mid 2000's . Pretty impressive. Curious how you can see/hear music evolve/devolve (depending on your taste) Curiously, in the late 60's/early 70's no soul from like 4 Tops or Temptations, or the Supremes made the top 5, nor did Creedence Clearwater. Interesting. No early 60's Beach Boys? Good Vibrations was one of THE biggest hits EVER! Just curious stuff.

Metallica didn't hit mainstream popularity until the Black Album. Both And Justice for all and Master of Puppets probably sold more after 1991 than when they were first released.

@@petercena9497 they where at the gramys to perform one In 1988 They multiplyed in size several times after the black album yes But you have to be pretty popular to make it to the grammys and even if you are not you would see alot more attention your way afterword That being said I still side with your statement of metalica not being on everyone's lips until the black album
@jaxonwoods81812 жыл бұрын
@@Thunderbolt3019 Metallica didn't really break to the big mainstream until 1991 with the Black Album. BUT, that album did prolly warrant something on the '91 list, either "Sandman" or "Nothing Else Matters." But again, rock made waves more with albums than singles; if it were top 10 albums, Metallica would've topped '91, with close challenges from "Use Your Illusion I&II", "Nevermind", and "Dangerous".
