WANTED! was made at a time when Preparation gave a 3-mana discount. This was a problem for designers so they couldn't make strong 3-mana spells for Rogue. If Preparation had been nerfed by that moment, I assume they would have made this card cost 3, which would make it playable in the Witchwood

I totally forgot prep used to be a 3 mana discount, makes more sense with that in mind!

It must just be so long ago that I don't remember that anymore lol, plus I've never been a hunter player which doesn't help.

props to the Hearthstone team, some of these cards are great ideas on paper, they just don't work really well in game

For sure, some cards they absolutely nail the theme or feel of the card, but it just sucks lol

I think with how much removals morden warrior has Crush should reduce itself to 0 and even then would not be that good since reliably having damaged minion is not easily in the meta were no creatures survive longer then a turn.

"maybe im being too hard on corruption" as a HS boomer, No. the card is really bad and i dont remember seeing it being ever good outside maybe a random generation in a very stars aline moment. I agree its just the worse.

I don't quite understand the requirements for something to be classed as removal for this video. If cards like Wanted! that deal 3 damage for 4 mana are on here, there are plenty of other cards with mediocre damage rates like Cobra Shot. Just counting cards that strictly remove a single minion, I have a few suggestions for the list: Shatter: Destroying a single frozen minion is so not worth it, when a doomsayer usually destroys all of the frozen minions. Funnily enough, the worst rated card on your list, Corruption, usually destroys a frozen minion for one mana cheaper. It's a neat little combo you got to pull off in Arena every now and then. Embrace Darkness: suffers from the same "wait for one turn" problem as corruption, except it's a whopping 6 mana. Unless you're at full health with an empty board, casting it is either going to kill you due to loss of tempo, or the minion trades itself off rendering your investment useless. Unwilling Sacrifice: Deadly Shot is a decent enough card. Having to sacrifice one of your own minions for a deadly shot makes for a not so decent card. Honorable mention to Shadow Word: Forbid. It's so hyper specific and has never been standard legal. Even with tradeable there's just no point putting it into a wild deck.

So my logic for picking these was cards that are used to remove a single threat, whether it be through damage, hard removal, transform, etc. Could I have been more clear or consistent with this? Probably! But I didn't want to dilute things and turn this into four different videos basically. Regarding some of your suggestions: Shatter - I already included this in my "Top 5 Worst Cards" video and didn't want to double dip, but I agree 100% it deserves a spot on this list if not. Embrace Darkness - I had this card in my initial pass, but ultimately removed it because while it's very similar to Corruption I just felt like Priest as a class was better positioned to pull off and live through an effect like this vs Warlock. Unwilling Sacrifice - I don't think this card is great, but I also don't think it's terrible? I vaguely remember it seeing some play at one point but could be remembering wrong. Shadow Word: Forbid - Agreed this card is terrible and super specific, I think I ignored it because it was a potential board wipe type card. No doubt my opinion and memory aren't flawless in these videos, but I appreciate hearing insight and opinions from others as well!

Honestly, there were multiple cards I almost picked for Druid, but considering they're not really known for their removal spells and have hardly any good ones, I tried not to pick on them too much lol

Usually you put your taunt minions on the far left or far right, so crushing walls works for that.

Corruption wasn't good, but worst removal ever? No. Its price is fair and while its "delay" is a big weakness for sure, the card can be genuinely life saving. If you have a bunch of small cheap taunt (like say, from the deathrattle of voidlord), the opponent will lose their expensive minion while only being able to take a 1/3 for you. Sure, it's not the most consistant thing, but in a "random discover" situation, I would almost always pick corruption over any other option on this list. All that was especially true at the time of release, in the early days of Hearthstone, removal was more expensive and the game was slower, meaning the downside of corruption was less significant too! I agree it wasn't a good card, but I really think it's unworthy of the #1 spot for sure. Especially since damage spells are considered removal for the purpose of this video, there were many, many ones worse than this (remember old flame lance, for instance?)
