That's not something that would ever happen. It wouldn't fit in with the collection, and would be a ton of extra work on Nintendo's part for something that no one would really care about. Yes, it would be very cool to see these, but really, it's not something that should be in 3D All-stars

People probably wouldn't be as pissed that these aren't remakes and as no Galaxy 2 if they just the damn name the rest of the world is Super Mario 3D All Stars otherwise in North America 3D All Stars seems like false advertisement like thought it was a good idea to change the name to 3D All Stars that alone will piss off a lot of people so I understand in that aspect why people are pissed all stars in the past means remakes the rest of world this is called Super Mario 3D Collection not All Stars

Nice video, however I do have some counterpoints to these arguments. There is really no reason to remake the graphics for Sunshine and Galaxy, they both have nice graphics to begin with and the upgrade in resolution makes them look even better. You can make the argument that a remake of mario 64 would be nice, I am hoping Nintendo does this one day but Mario 64 is one of my favorite games of all time and I am happy to be able to play the original game on my Switch. I also find it a little hypocritical that people argue that the games should all be remade because the original all stars did, but then freak out that 3d all stars has a limited release just like the all stars for SNES and the Wii did. I don't think it should be a limited release either but I don't believe that should devalue how good this collection is. Being able to use the analog triggers on the gamecube would be nice but using r and zr works perfectly fine, I don't think this should really detract the value of the collection either.

They could have made each game look like the artwork at the time when they came out. Like in the M64 vid you realeased where it shows a mod that makes the game look enhanced and the artwork at time.

the fact they didn't update the graphics doesn't bother me too much. I never played the originals and I don't have the money to buy a gamecube or N64 so playing them in a pure form makes it an organic experience for me

The way the GameCube emulator in 3D All-Stars is set up is really REALLY looking like Nintendo is planning to release more GameCube games on the Switch, but if people like you keep complaining they are just gonna cancel it.

1.no galaxy 2 (ironically it’s my favourite main Mario game and in my top 3 Mario game next to Mario kart 8 deluxe and bowser inside story. So it’s does sting more than for others even if I like 3D all stars and gave me the opportunity to play the original galaxy and Sunshine for the first time)

What a shitty game here is why: minimal improvements, didn’t fix original games problems (sloppy wonky Mario 64 camera), no new graphics, no new textures, no new music, no new levels at all, no challenges, no art, garbage Mario 64 controls, game doesn’t feel finished, minimal menu screens, only 3 games (no Galaxy 2 or 3D land), no special GameCube controller support, poor gameplay. Greedy lazy cash grab by scummy Nintendo who would waste $70 on this trash.

Whenever I read about the original Mario All Stars, it’s people complaining about how the changes ruin the aesthetic. Most people prefer the look of the original. Making Mario 64 look modern wouldn’t make it a better game. It’s perfect as is. Preserving the original experience in higher res is the best way to handle these things in my opinion. A full remake of Mario 64 would be a cool project, but that would be its own $60 dollar game and I feel is beyond the scope of this collection. I’ve been playing 64 with a pro controller all weekend and it’s been awesome

I think the game is just too lazy. Sunshine and 64 have glaring issues that could easily be fixed. E.G. 64s awful camera and Sunshine’s Blue coins (literally just add a blue coin tracker). But they didn’t fix anything. They even went to the effort to get rid of iconic glitches like the BLJ which people like. But not fix the camera. Just so incredibly lazy and poorly thought out

They didn't patch the BLJ. They used the Shindou version, whick already had the BLJ removed. The glitch wasn't patched for 3D All-Stars, they just used a version of Mario 64 which never even had BLJ. They used Shindou because it was the only Mario 64 that already supported rumble.

Heres the reason Galaxy 2 isn't included: The devs only had 6 months time to write an N64, Gamecube and Wii emulator. The Wii emulator didn't run smoothly on the Switch and they didn't have time to optimize it so they had to choose another way. They made half of the game run natively on the Switch and half of the game be emulated. They're also using a dynamic resolution to ensure the framerate stays stable. The reason why Galaxy 2 wasn't included is because they had to change Galaxy's code so it could run natively on the switch. They just didn't have enough time to do the same for Galaxy 2. Maybe they're gonna release it later as a dlc or something who knows. But there's still one very important question left. Why did Nintendo choose to write 3 emulators when it would've been way easier to just port the games? What do they need these emulators for? Sadly we don't know yet.

It would have taken WAY more money and time to port them. The emulators were the best way to go, because they didn't have to use as much time or money to make them, and they can use these emulators for future projects. It looks like more GameCube games are coming to Switch, because the emulator in 3D All-Stars has bounding box and z-freeze features built in, but Mario Sunshine doesn't use either of those features. It looks like Nintendo is developing one emulator that can handle a lot of games, so they can get more on Switch quickly.

They want these out by a certain date and don't want to spend a ton of money and time on this when they have better projects they are working on. They don't want an anniversary to push back bigger game launches, so they are using emulators that can run this and a ton of other games do they can release more without having to stop other projects.

I don't really care about any of the problems mentioned in this video, event inexplicable lack of Galaxy 2, except for one thing: You see, what I don't get is why they didn't get rid of all the buggy issues that Sunshine has. We live in an era where such mistakes are nonexistent anymore, so what reason does Nintendo have to leave those bugs in?? On a sidenote, I only care a little about the bugs, but it's for me the biggest complaint that I could come up with, because overall I'm pretty biast towards this collection (or at least to Sunshine and Galaxy because I don't care about 64). If anything the bugs that Sunshine has are just as iconic as Sunshine itself. They're part of its charm.
