I want a collab game between the three not for the game itself, but just because I wanna see the result of Falcom JDK, Nubuo Uematsu and Shoji Meguro working together. Perhaps JDK on the synth, metal, and jazz, Uematsu on the orchestra and Meguro on rock, and pretty much anything he can think of since Meguro is pretty adaptive.

Great to see a lots of Shoji Meguro in there. Personally, my favourite JRPG composers are: Shoji Meguro, Yuzo Koshiro, Hiroki Kikuta, Yoko Shimomura, Nobuo Uematsu, the Sakimoto-Iwata duo, Ryuji Sasai, and probably a few more I can't remember now.

Low-key I think people sleeping on the Alicesoft composers (they go under aliases since Alicesoft is an Eroge company). One of the composers you already listed though lol, it has become fairly accepted that Ryuji Sasai is Dragon Attack. Though as most seem to think Shade is arguably even better than Ryuji Sasai, since leaving Alicesoft Shade has worked on like one other eroge and said eroge used Shade's name to advertise it so clearly the guy is well-loved.

I find interesting that even though Erick is a imense jrpg fan, he is not much a fan of FF (the largest JRPG franchise), there were quite a few battle themes from FFIV to VIII that would be a must in most lists. However I appreciate the underrated feel of this list.

Something that I noticed while playing lots of jrpg is that the ff frachise is not that great. Yeah FFVIII will always be my favourite ff, the frachise was my introduction to jrpg and my love for jrpg music but after playing a lot of different games (not as much as Landon) you slowly start to view ff games as overrated because there are other games like the legend of heroes that are better at storytelling and in the music department (but I still love Uematsu)

I agree. The Final Fantasy Tactics soundtrack is phenomenal. Antipyretic could have easily replaced a few tracks in my personal taste. Or the battle theme in Lunar 2 on Sega CD... But it's all good, it's all a matter of taste and perspective, it's still a pretty good list.

@@nicogalax yeah the legend of heroes is top tier in my opinion for JRPGs , it is rare to see JRPG do progressive world in their own game , it is so tiring trying to re-talk to the NPCs yet they all don't have new dialogues. That alone makes JRPG less immersive.

As the game progresses the lives of the ncp's too, some get married, others get closer to their families, etc. I still remember a wife living in Grancel (from trails in the sky) that almost hated his husband for fishing all the time and at the end of the second game she became a fisherwoman lol

Thanks for the video. I enjoyed listening to it while doing some household chores and trying to identify as many games as I could. Did pretty well if I do say so, though I can't believe I had somehow forgotten about Vicious from Shadow Hearts Covenant. That game has an amazing soundtrack (and is amazing in general so I should really play through it again soon). Hope to see a follow up video with boss battles at some point, or even just another 50 normal battle themes.

I'm surprised Silver Will from the Trails in the Sky trilogy isn't in here. I know it's not always played, but it's there when you get to low health, and that one boss fight against you-know-who (I can't remember if it plays in other boss fights). I'm not usually a fan of instrumental-only tracks, but I love Silver Will. For me it's top tier.

@@TimPaler Good point. Though then imo Fight with Assailant from Sky SC should be on there. It's incredibly hype for a mook theme, it's got an incredible sense of urgency. Makes you really feel like you're rushing through the enemy's base, fighting off enemies coming from everywhere while alarms are blaring all around you.

Not counting final bosses and such. My fave bgm battle moment was zero no kiseki rescuing KeA and getting to the docks when inevitable struggle plays. My fave version is the combination one with the regular and zanmai version together.

Good call with Langrisser. Series has great soundtracks. The Sega cart I made with English trans of Lang II was some of the best music I ever heard come out of my model 1 Genesis honestly. Tight bass too, even makes subwoofer shake!
