I have been to this stadium 2x. Once for USMNT vs Mex and once for an NFL game. This is the craziest stadium I have been too (11 NFL, 5 MLB, 4 MLS, 3 EPL, 4 NBA, 3 National Stadiums). And of all the ones I have been to, it is the only one where you legitimately dont feel safe as an opposing fan. While I was high enough in the stadium to not be a victim, USMNT fans tend to get items and bodily fluids thrown at them. It's also 7200 feet above see level. when youre climbing to the top tier, it's a battle for us Sea Levelers.

Couple things. Signal Iduna only seats 80k plus on german league matches because they allow them to have standing fans. Its because they have one big stand where fans are not seated that packs a shitload of people and is sort of a tradition, they call "the wall". So they allow them to do this unsafe crap for tradition purposes. For UEFA or FIFA compliant matches only SEATS about 65k and wouldn't even make the list. Bernabeu real capacity is 81044 and its slightly above Luzhniki. Will seat about 85000 after remodelation is finished. Also I could explain you why the remodelation is so expensive, and why they are not making a new bigger stadium, but you are american so you probably wouldnt get it anyway.
